Why is it not a problem when a 1000 fans are shouting wanker to a player or ref? Whys it not a problem when fans are shouting at a fan bald/fat/ginger/galasses wearing or any other abuse? If fans of the opposition send abuse to the home fans, they will always be abused back. Who has said these actions you name are OK, grover?

None of those are protected characteristics in Law. Interestingly the club has a relatively rare proactive attitude to abuse aimed at officials, I can't think of anywhere else in semi or professional sport where fans are cautioned in advance about that. Fans responding to abusive/banterous chants are often quite humourous. Leeds fans are targeted at home about Jimmy Saville being "one of our own". The retorts to this assertion are amusing albeit not on a family message board such as this My favourite Saville photo: View AttachmentWhy are pictures of paedophiles being posted on here? Talk about a lack of self-awareness...

No one that I've noticed, I just wondered why no one has mentioned much about it over the years. Just thought I'd ask as people were discussing the crowd singing abuse at opposing fans. Once the lady in the dorking fans started giving the home fans the 'up yours' finger, she was always going to get something back. She certainly wasnt the poor innocent victim that some seem to believe. If I went to an away game, stood as close to the home end as possible, then was aiming 'banter' at the home fans, I know exactly what I would get in return. So I wouldn't do it in the first place.

It depends on the individual. I have been called everything under the sun but I am big enough and most certainly ugly enough to laugh it off and give it back tenfold if necessary but some people are easily hurt and cannot take the abuse. These people may not show it on the terraces but when they get home and begin withdrawing into themselves and thinking that they actually deserved it then you have real abuse problems on your hand. There really is no reason for our fans,or anybody else's fans,to verbally attack young adults of whatever gender I just wonder why they feel the need to do it.

You are right grovegreenie, she wasn't innocent. In my experience over hundreds of football matches, you have to be very, very unlucky to be verbally or physically abused unless you're doing a bit of provocation. Well behaved supporters hardly ever get seriously abused, as rare as hens teeth. So the Dorking lady was not exactly acting like 'Mother Theresa' but the disgusting response of some supporters was def out of order. The club can do without it.

What are you talking about bernie ?
Why have you trawled the archives till you found something that happened at the Town End, 6 years ago ?
Whats your game ?

If bernie has had to go back 6 years to find anything to 'support his case' that Stones supporters have a record for abusung women, then it just proves that these incidents are very rare.

Over the many hundreds of years I've been watching football, well it seems like hundreds,I have sung or chanted abuse at away supporters but never women . I have received abuse as well but I look upon it it as a verbal challenge, if somebody wants to verbally abuse me then they better be good at it because I am f**king brilliant at making people wish they'd kept their mouths shut. I have never been abused by a female supporter, that I can remember anyway, and in return would never abuse one. The chanting was out of order bur not as much as the Maidstone fan who kept thrusting his groin and shouting suck on that darling to the female fans at Concord Rangers last season, he and therefore we got away with that one. I blame the anti-smacking brigade the little sods need the sort of backhander I used to get, I soon learnt respect. Oh, the thrashings I got- not only due Irish parents- but in general. Has a the effect of making you not to repeat the misdemeanour. Its called education!

Not allowed to punish children so they don't grow up knowing the boundaries.
