Just seen Mensah made team of the week. Good on him - glad to see what initially looked like a shaky backline gelling, even if it is a little unsettled week by week at this point.

Not being funny but I would say he was probably our least best player on Saturday and I worried every time the ball went near him. Got caught out again with to many long balls and misdirected his passes. However positively it shows how well the rest of the team played if he was my least best player. Anyways congratulations Jacob as part of a massive team performance Saturday.

East Grinstead is a nice little ground providing you can find it. If you go when you enter the park turn immediately left up between the trees and you'll find it at the end of the road. I recommend the Dorset Arms for a bevvy or food before the game. I have decided ,if well enough, I will visit Lewes v Cray W thus for me will be new ground no. 513 Ended up at Merstham, who are bottom of the table with no wins. Very tidy side who still got battered 5-1. Played an insanely high line, which the manager never addressed, and they got punished every single time. Could have ended 7 or 8. Lovely little ground though with a decent bar and some absolutely 10 out of 10 non league chips to boot. I ended up going nowhere as my trip to Lewes was ruined by some idiot being hit by a train so there was cancellations and delays and roadworks and early evening closures if the A26 meant I would have to rush home early. I don't do rushing anymore. Went to Merstham back when we were in the same league, don't remember the chips though.

I went to Chatham (2nd) vs Ashford (3rd), along with 938 others. It was an extremely attritional game which Chatham won 1 - 0, though they were thwarted on a few occasions by world class saves from the Ashford keeper. But there were 6 bookings, plus one for Tommy Warrilow, the Ashford manager. He spent the entire match wittering away, micro-managing his players' positioning. It made me wonder how much the players actually hear, and whether they actually respond to the constant ear-bashing!
I bought a Galaxy chocolate bar at the tea bar. I was charged £1.20, when the wrapping had a huge "60p" emblazoned on it! Profiteering or a reasonable way to make money for the club?

Well the lads and I really enjoyed our daytrip to Scunny, the stadium looks very tired compared to the last time I went when it was brand new and weirdly looked smaller than I remember, although that may be because back in the day it was practically the only building there - way back in the days before retail parks and Wacky Warehouses were a thing. Entertaining game to watch, although the highlight was being engaged outside the ground by a Stones supporter who hoped our team didn't go down. Apparently we look like northerners despite having left our whippet and flat caps at home

I would imagine the journalist mixed the two up as Greenidge was immense

Although hard to believe now - looks like a pretty good (if rather jaded) non-league ground. Which is probably what it's going to be for a while...

I remember the first time we went we had to walk a fair way to the nearest pub which looked a right shit hole. I was sent in alone and if I didn't come through the window within 2 minutes the others would follow me in. It was immaculate inside and very welcoming.

I had a Swordy away footy nightmare once - no pubs! We went to see the Hammers play at Villa. We had a so-called Villa fan with us - who'd never been to see Villa at home (in fact, I suspect the only time he'd ever seen 'his' club was when they played Gills in a Cup game!). Anyway, having never been there, he had no idea of what pubs were where, so we just wandered around, assuming there would be plenty of pubs near a PL ground. But - in nearly an hour of wandering - we didn't find any! Only afterwards did we reailise that we had accidentally walked into the part of town that was predominently Muslim. Had we walked the other bloody way, apparently there were loads of pubs! Premier League fan-boys - dontcha just love em?
