My God when you think Bromley had real problems with scoring goals before the Stones fixture. Puts it in perspective. Another shambles of a performance for Hak to ponder over. With Cheek and Marriott starting and Dennis on the bench then they should not be having issues scoring goals at this level.

Yep absolute joke and the reason some fans went in the home end. Some fans were even having their wallets searched....wtf It’s a sh*t show. To a certain extent the over zealous approach can be blamed partly on our fans previous behaviour in taking pyros but it is still unbelievable they weren’t prepared for a big crowd. As for the facilities. It’s the minimum they have to offer and no more. One of the grounds I have no desire to go back to. Not as bad as Dover, but not far off. Away fans must think we're soft when they turn up at the Gallagher!

Which is exactly the same situation as when Jay took us into the NL too soon. Hak needed another season in NLS during which he could draft in NL level players in readiness for the promotion push. The close season was too late to recruit the right sort of player. So how would he draft in NL players when in the NLS when he can’t seem to get them when we are in the NL??? I don’t get this promoted too soon nonsense. The summer should be long enough to recruit players you have identified. Funny how the consnsus of opinion last season was that we were ready for the NL (unlike under Jay) and most of us wanted to keep most of the NS team. How soon we fickle fans forget...

It depends what you mean. Good enough for the league? Yes. Good enough to win it? No

It must defo come down to recruitment, and what the pay structure is. These teams like you mentioned seem to be able to do it, maidenhead have for a fair few season, with 5-6 games yesterday had crowds of less than 1500,question is how are they financing there squads, I would love to know, as we can't seem to match them, but we are where we are now, got to find solutions to stop leaking goals, formation change could be one, we do seem to far to open, and easily got at.

Hak needs to get the team punching above its weight.
Its what the owners expect.

Woking, Wealdstone and so on all have experience in the NL now. We are feeling our way. Were scouting missions undertaken last season to see what we might face? Probably not. Have we recruited well? Doesn't look like it. However, when you look at other teams' results and especially who they have played, then a pattern of sorts emerges: Chesterfield: Draw Yeovil, Notts Co, Dorking Win Southend, Oldham, Altrincham, Barnet, Wrexham, Aldershot Wrexham: Lost Chesterfield Draw Yeovil Southend Won Dorking, Dagenham,Gateshead, Woking, Maidstone, Eastleigh Solihull: Lost Notts Co Draw York, Southend, Barnet Won Altrincham, Torquay, Dorking, Scunthorpe, Aldershot Boreham Wood: Lost Aldershot Draw Altrincham, Notts Co, Gateshead Won Scunthorpe, Maidenhead, Dorking, Torquay, Southend
And so on.
Teams at the top are only losing to each other, with the exception of Aldershot's win at BW. Teams lower down can pick up a point here or there, but most are losing to the top clubs. Meanwhile, at the bottom:
Altrincham: Lost D&R, SM, Chesterfield, Maidenhead Draw BW, Yeovil, Bromley, Maidstone, Scunthorpe Gateshead: Lost Halifax, Wrexham, Wealdstone, Dorking Draw Notts Co, Barnet, DR BW Won Maidstone Halifax: Lost Aldershot, Notts, Wealdstone, Torquay, Barnet Draw Maidenhead Won Gateshead, Scunthorpe,
May not have included all games, but the bottom teams can take points off each other, but rarely those at the top. As for Maidstone, the game at Gateshead is arguably by far our worst result, as that was a team we should not be losing to. The Dorking game wasn't good, but the ref definitely cost us a point imo. We still have difficult games on the horizon - Chesterfield, BW and Notts Co, where we can expect very little on current form. Key games are the ones v Barnet, Halifax, Southend and Yeovil. That takes us to the end of October and if we don't pick up at least eight points from those games, then we are in trouble. These are games we need to win, in order to offset the fact our chances are not great in the others. Performance may be more important than the results here. Seems to me that, Hak needs to play the percentages, doing his best to win games against teams around and below us, while aiming for damage limitation against those at the top.

Pretty much what I said 2 pages ago (but, for once, in fewer words!).

Good analysis but it doesn't change the simple truth that when we go a goal down away from home, the players heads go down. So different from last season.

Wonder whats happened to the work hard ethic that Hak installed in the team last season. Away from home it seems to have gone walkabouts.
