But with a vastly reduced majority. The won't fool the northern labour strongholds a second time, and they won't find it easy in their own strongholds. I can't be the only former Tory who won't be voting for them again.

A bombastic performance that was shameless and disingenuous. A sure sign that the character of the man in charge will not change.
So says the lead comment in the Financial Times. Of the other papers, only the Express supports Johnson (no surprise there) with even the Mail leading with a plea to sort the mess out, because it is paralysing everything else. "Like getting Al Capone for tax evasion" is a great analogy and sadly one that is all too true. The worst of the wealthiest and/or most powerful in society (which pretty much always go hand in hand anyway), always seem to get off on technicalities on the big charges, so minor ones end up being the only ones that stick. Johnson also 'promised', another word he doesn't understand the meaning of, a full investigation into the whole Covid pandemic and how it was handled. The caveat is 'when it is all over'. Technically, it never will be, so he is off the hook again, but the litany of errors given by pwoodstone show the real depths of depravity this government resorted to in the panic stricken early days two years ago and have carried on since, because they are all nice little earners. Cameron thought that, as long as he used the word 'clearly', everybody thought he was telling the truth. Johnson's approach is three or four word phrases, like Get Brexit Done' and presumably we will now hear he is 'Sorting out the mess' ad nauseum. Can only hope that opposition parties are making a list of all the smart arse one liners, to remind people what they voted for come the next election. The trouble is, most of them can't be arsed and are far more interested in so called Reality TV stars and Influencers (whoever they are), as per what the main headlines are about 90% of the time. They get what they deserve, but the rest of us have to put up with it. Little wonder the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

Anyone voting for this wants their head tested There are still enough rich people to see them over the line next time. There really aren't. It's middle income groups that consistently keep the Tories in power.

After this round of inflation has had it's way, which could easily develop into stagflation (and maybe already has for many) there will not be any middle income groups. Just the top 1% and the rest of us.

Just the top 1% and the rest of us. Maybe they can reinvigorate some old BS about it being a pain worth having or convince gullible fools that trickle down works. It's noticeable that the brexity types ain't here spouting slogans about how great its going to be

By the time of the election, the “it’s too good to be true” and “how will they pay for it” brigade will have rubbished the Labour manifesto and the plebs will believe it.
There will also be a fair few little Engländers that will be voting conservative as a reward for Brexit.
Then you’ve got the contrary voters. “I should never vote BJ so I will”.
The electorate is so stupid I have no doubt Con could win again

Meanwhile, Bojo is busy ringing round offering peerages, knighthoods and various other bribes in a 'stick with me' campaign - though guess it was always thus. His failure to be apologetic over the Saville/Starmer comments show what a nasty bastard he is underneath, despite all the supposed bonhomie. Despite all this, there were still plenty on Jeremy Vine's show last week sticking up for him. At least that's how it seemed before I turned the radio off and must admit I can't listen to it for long.

I see the corrupt t**t adopted the fridge methodology by avoiding questions.
I'd love to have been there to ask him about his wife beating dad and the effect it had on him.

Felt a bit off colour yesterday and wondered if it was something in the air. Now I know why.
