It’s still a sore point with me. Even sorer is that you can’t have a discussion about it without someone calling you a remoaner or saying the majority voted out as they hate Europeans etc.

People forget that the referendum had no legally binding obligation, it was purely an expression of opinion as a contract to placate a few on the loone right. It was a weak leader that said that 52% of 70% of the electorate should mandate a policy.
Also remember Alex de Pfeffel only backed Brexit, being the chancer he is, because Cameron's anointed successor was Gideon (He changed his name to George when he entered politics to make him sound less elitist) Osborne. As such the chancer saw it as his best route to the top.
I have lived with CCP BS long enough to know not to allow people to rewrite history in their favour.

You want facts ? You want the truth ? But you know the answer already ! The reference above was of course 52% (51.9% actually) of those who actually voted at the time. Thank you

Johnson is down to tweeting that some mobile companies didn't reintroduce roaming charges and something about crowns on pint glasses

Reports in the news this morning say the proverbial will hit the fan on Monday when MPs return from the weekend having seen their mailboxes full of complaints about Youknowwho. Might therefore be an idea to contact your MP and local/county councillor along the following lines:
Dear, While I have greatly valued your work, such is the toxic state of affairs in parliament, that it will be impossible for me to vote for you in future while Boris Johnson is prime minister.
Tracy Crouch will be getting one from me, because much as I like her, I couldn't vote for her in the last election for that very reason. If lots of people did the same, Bojo would soon be gone, because the thing MPs fear most is losing their seat. Yes Prime Minister is back on TV and remarkable how topical it still is after all those years. The one hour special on how Jim Hacker became PM is priceless.

So, Boris didn't know the drinks party was against the rules, because nobody told him. Just WTF does he expect us to believe about this? That he is not lying to parliament, or he is a complete fuckwit? This is the man remember, who stands at the podium, telling us all what the rules are and what we must do to follow them. Unfortunately, as his rules consist of more than four words (and aren't 'Lets get Brexit done' or 'Everyone must get jabbed'), then he hasn't got a sodding clue as to what they are. That, or he is a liar - or maybe both. And this man is our prime minister.

That, or he is a liar - or maybe both. And this man is our prime minister. He isn't our PM though is he. He hasn't been governing the country, that's clear. He's been having a nice time, taking as much as he can and helping his rich buddies to more public money. Is this clown show going to be allowed to continue? If so, then shame on those that support it. They've done nothing to help us, they've done nothing to support us, they haven't been 'straining every sinew' or 'working night and day'. They've been taking it easy and letting you and your families suffer the consequences. Politically, this has been the worst two years I've ever seen and ever hope to see. We now reap the consequences of his flagship policy and the utter dimwits this allowed to grace, or affect, our Parliament is nothing short of a national embarrassment. Dorries, Raab, Hancock, Frost (unelected bureaucrat), Cummings (unelected bureaucrat), Fabricant, Bridgen, Rees-Mogg etc etc. They've all stood there telling you things with stone-cold confidence that turned out to be the opposite of true. They need to go.

The whole point of their article is that this should be instead of taxing the less well off. The balance of wealth around the world has significantly gone even further in favour of the utterly, disgustingly filthy rich, so with figures like those quoted, such people could make a real difference at pretty much zero cost to themselves. Think it's something like 99% of the world's wealth is owned by 1% of the population Taking 10% of a poor person's income is a serious hit. Taking another 5% of someone earning a million a year still leaves them with £950k to play with. Am sure they could manage.

Premier League footballers seem to find it difficult, always wanting an improved contract months before the end of the current one, or hankering after higher earnings at another club. Although that could just be their agents stirring it up...

I would make it law that no one person should have more than £10M in the bank as that is more than enough to have a lavish lifetime.

The idea that Premier footballers are the problem is hilarious.

They will offshore things and out of your jurisdiction. The idea that Premier footballers are the problem is hilarious. The problem is the great British electorate. Anyone with the ability to think could see how Boris was gonna turn out, yet the Tories elected him leader, the public then gave him an overwhelming majority at the election and thus he is our prime minister until such time as he is democratically removed. He lost the Tories my vote when he became leader, I didn't need to wait and see what kind of government he'd lead because I already knew, but unfortunately I seem to be in a small minority because not only did he hang on to most of the traditional Tory vote but managed to convince a significant portion of the labour vote to switch sides. So much as we might dislike his government, we're stuck with them until he is removed, and dire as it has been, that has to be democratically, either by the party or the electorate.
