Trying to pretend the last 5 years has not been awful beyond all comparison is silly I'm not saying that they have not been awful but all politicians are the same born liars and putting themselves first. As Labour have walked this election even though its only 02.30 I fully expect Kier(someone please shoot him)Starmer to make the next 5 years as bad if not worse. I have to agree, It will be Labour until the next election , when everyone will go back and vote tories. One good thing to come out of this will hopefully be Sunak will be gone by the next election. This seems like the only way he was going to leave. So there are at lease some positives out of this.

Scary how many Nazis there apparently are living in this country now. I stopped voting conservative because they had moved too far to the right for me. Now Reform, who are significantly more right wing have polled a significant number of votes. Thank Christ they didn’t translate into a like proportion of MPs otherwise I’d worry about our children’s future.

Thank Christ they didn’t translate into a like proportion of MPs otherwise I’d worry about our children’s future. The thing is, the information you need to make an informed decision is out there but it wasn't really communicated to those who are not going to go and find it themselves. Your average reform voted will believe that the reason he can't get a job, doctors appointment, houses are so expensive, is the "boat people". The "boat people" make up 4% of net immigration, using 2023 figures. Labour did not once quantify how much Liz Truss' little stunt added on to my monthly bills. They know they had the election in the bag and so didn't say anything that could have jeopardised this - not an ideal situation. Reform took advantage. I gate the bloke, but Farage coming in to the election probably increased the reform vote 400-500%. The people who he "reached" are the ones trawling X and that's where they get their info. Most of it made up. People are getting stupider (intentional).

Hopefully Labour can do some good, but Im expecting a continuation of shitty parliament and with every failing will come to "brexit this," "brexit that,"

Labour was close to winning in Maidstone as well
Its a shame because a bit of tactical voting could have got rid of Grant

Labour was close to winning in Maidstone as well Its a shame because a bit of tactical voting could have got rid of Grant Unfortunately the only reason Labour got close is because Maidstone’s gammons showed their true colours and voted reform. Over 9000 votes is a worrying trend. If it turns out to be more than a protest vote then I fear for my kids’ futures. At my age it’s probably only going to affect me for the life of one or two more governments.

As expected Tom Turdyhat lost 24% of the votes and still won by 10,000+. Just too many rich people in Tonbridge alas I'm not one of them.

Rejoice. The corrupt Tories are gone! I have a song for the new PM................."Tory in Red" by Chris De Buggered. Sir Keir Starmer is more of a Tory leaders name than Rishi Sunak. Yes, hurrah, the corrupt Tories have gone! Now for the inept tories in red. At the end of the day they are all politicians. Dont expect anything other than more poor policies just under a different banner.

Too many people are focused on blaming refugees in small boats for their woes and ignoring the real issues such as increasing inequity in society and the negative effects of brexit

My only takeaway thus far is that the cabinet looks like it consists of people competent and able for the job as opposed to their relationship with the PM/voting record. Can only be positive

Can only be positive I've not checked it out but I hear they have started putting people with a knowledge of the subject matter into the relevant ministerial positions. Radical.
