JDL Sports or whatever they're called (imagine what a company that would be!), moving their warehouses to continental Europe... so the migration will continue to ebb and flow: "The Warehousing sector is very reliant on non-UK workers; according to the CBI (2018) 25 per cent of staff working in warehouses in the UK (113 thousand people) are non-UK EU Nationals" That doesn't make sense - surely that means that 75% of the workers ARE UK nationals. So why move to the minority territory? They are not moving current warehousing to the EU. They were planning to build another warehouse in the EU. It was to be built here but the cost of sending goods to the EU has jumped so much they are going to build it in the EU now. 1,000 potential jobs lost. Still, on current trends, 250 of them will be those pesky foreigners.

You have a point... I'm also assuming that the EU nationals will want to move to (say) Germany, and the Brits won't... Some things, like the lorry park as ev en LBC remoanerboy admitted, will slowly sort themselves out; there will be continual ongoing negotiations on a granular industry by industry scale (commercial contracts as well as government legislation), and I'm sure some sort of 5 year review is in the mix too. Meanwhile we're definitely in a worse place - but not as irrevocably bad as remoaners make out. As with all news (covid test postcode mixups, melting glaciers) they always show you the worst case to imply it's all that bad, and impressionable people swallow it hook line and sinker.

I have news for your delicate ears NWS. Piss is not a swear word. If I had wanted to use a swear word I would have used a different 4 letter word starting with the letter "F" .
If it is not just to attract attention why do you persist in polluting a football forum? There are plenty of other places you can go to have political discussions.
This is a football forum and your views have nothing to do with MUFC or football in general so once again I invite you politely to continue your political ranting in another place.

He's a delicate little soul. Once had a go at me for using the word toss. I would suggest if that's his idea of bad language he probably should steer clear of football forums. What made it worse was it was actually a typo. I had meant to say load of old tosh. Also, I'm fully expecting him to come back at me and point out that the correct plural of forum is fora.

Well it is but I'm not surprised you start with something untrue. I'll leave you with your belief in fake news. It seemed OK to be political when you were ranting about how great brexit was. Suddenly, as it falls apart, you don't want politics. Hilarious, so very hilarious. 'I am attracting attention' by being on a forum. Surely that is a forum is about, otherwise there would be little point in posting on it. Before Christmas, the 'attention' I gained was Brexiters wanting to tell me how unpatriotic I was etc etc. Now reality bites they don't want me posting, want me banned etc or get abusive. As before Christmas, I am merely posting facts. I will politely decline your invitation although I am not sure why you seem to think the first invitation was anything but rude and obnoxious, putting you in a poor light. Brexit will affect this country in many ways and that will include this club and the fans of this club, so I reject your analysis or maybe your precious project that is failing so badly now include suppression of speech. Again, I invite you to avoid the one thread that is labelled 'Unashamed politics but...' and post on one of the many threads. Somehow I doubt you will and will continue to get angry at me because it is not proving to be any better.

Oh dear, such a rewriting of history. In fact, you got really upset with me for a post saying some people didn't go to a game. I pointed out your word was sweary. You then got upset saying it wasn't. When I proved it was you suddenly decided it was a typo.

So, in essence, brexit is brilliant because it is not quite as bad as some people said it was and some of the negatives will be recovered eventually. Obviously, that won't help those affected now. In this story, you might see things differently if you were out of work in the area the planned warehouse will now not be built. I guess the Hiroshima bomb was brilliant because repopulation happened eventually. You might want to note that 'the cost of sending the goods' was the reason for not building the warehouse here. You do also realise the 'control our borders' argument has appeared strange given we opted not to in the pandemic and that NI and Gibraltar have, effectively, ended up in the EU.
