This is about the best the club could do, IMHO. MUFC needs the cash, and the key to die hard seated season ticket holders is the ' set in stone ' clause to allow punters first dibs on existing seats when it becomes practical to offer them. OK. But only one problem - no link! How exactly do we buy a ST online???

What happens should they sell 1050 season tickets? Where would that leave the rest of us?

Confused I am. Does this mean that, for this season, MS ST holders shouldn't wait for their seat renewal (as per), but should buy a ground ST anyway - and then wait to see if they can upgrade to a seat later? I'm happy to do this, if it IS what it means, but the reason I got a seat ST in the first place is that I found standing up for 2 hours was becoming (literally) a pain in the arse. Much as I want to watch Stones, even standing up, I'm not sure that I'll be able to - and I can't be the only old codger in this position. You're not alone, and you're right about buying a ground ticket and then upgrading. I get my dad his ST each year for his birthday (had to think of something else this year!) but at least he'll probably be able to stand and watch the game despite being almost 80! I note the bit about Set in Stone, so that even if an existing ST seat holder misses out due to reduced capacity their seat is effectively reserved until 100% capacity is restored.

Loyal stand ticket holder for many years but at the risk of abuse:
Current Government guidance: Gatherings of more than 30 people are not permitted while social distancing. Therefore, clubs are unable to have gatherings or spectators of any size at this time for any matches or training.
So the club want us to buy tickets when we cannot attend? Same as a car salesman telling you to buy a car but don't use it??
And how would social distancing work if God forbid you needed a toilet break or a beer or a snack while the game was in play?? Surely you would need to pass other spectators in the row? Just don't get it....

Yesterday I was in Sainsburys car park in Tonbridge talking to a man who knows a friend of the woman who is knocking off the man who lives next door to the woman who knows the brother of the girl that walks the dog of our local MP and he seems to think capacity will be set at 3/8ths or 37.5% . This would give us a capacity of 15-1600 ish. Personally as this man is a bit of a pratt, sorry my mistake a total pratt,I think I would rather believe the dog.

Just a thought, if the FA actually want to ensure social distancing then I'd go back to the away fans comment. A one-way route around the ground, with the away facilities serving as an alternative. I would prefer a risk assessment so away fans can attend that are unlikely to kick-off but who'd have billed Weymouth as the club to force segregation in all our matches?
Lot's of early lunch breaks at work today! Best of luck to all getting their tickets suspect this is going to be like that play off final tickets.

Some very good points there and I agree with all of what you say but I will point out that the club has said it will refund the cost of the season ticket in the event of the season going tits-up again.

Grounds are almost universally four sided which can allow one way traffic in and out. Bars and other refreshment facilities are likely to be closed, and masks will have to be worn. The loo is the dodgiest bit, but if you're masked it shouldn't be too much of an issue as two masked people passing each other for a second or two is not deemed an excessive risk.

Current guidelines and gatherings of 30 people, Yes, we know that and that’s why the Club is saying maybe October, with is a best guess at present based on the rumblings. I’d have happily renewed my 4 and get what’s coming- but I can understand why a significant number wouldn’t, with the attitude you describe of a car-salesman scenario. Personally, I want the Club to survive and am happy to contribute- its been 26 years coming and Id rather it not fold, and the land become another housing estate, lost forever and written about by my kids and grandkids. Don’t for one moment think its not part of a disaster plan. If it were mine, it would be. As for the social distancing- go to any town of a night and see it in practice. Maidstone, for instance- I’ve ridden the bike through it most nights. Life will go on, and youngsters will flout it as they don’t get it, do they? So, the Risk Assessments and Housing estate option worries me if we don’t offer something.

Bill kind of mentioned difficulty with refunds when explaining lack of early bird tickets.
