We cannot afford BJT. Simple. Hak needs to find more 'economical' players.

Anyone hoping for a Paxman comeback are gonna be disappointed. Just signed for Gray's Athletic. It says Joe Paxman on twitter; Jack has just retweeted it.

We cannot afford BJT. Simple. Hak needs to find more 'economical' players. Then why did we stay "Full-Time?". Either go PT and train evenings and get the semi retired Worgs types and "economical" players within a 25% attendance budget, or stay FT (morning training) and keep the likes of big George and Noah and go for BJT and pray that we don't get a 25% limit. If we start to play "mix and match" of money players and "economical" that's dangerous as you'll have jealousies within the squad. Squad? I say that tongue in cheek as we barely have a team. Hak is playing the lastminute.com game. Again. Clearly that worked for us last time.

Don't know about 'Last minute Hak'. He told supporters nearly 2 weeks ago that a fair few players were lined up and close to signing. So we must be very, very close now.

Oliver has made it clear that the under 23's will be needed to boost the squad size to around 20-22. I think we have just 11 players signed up so far and a couple of those were not considered good enough for regular first team duties last season. Maybe another 5 players needed for the squad to look really decent.

Like most players, BJT has always pushed the wages threshold and thats fair enough. The Dover owner has been prepared to subsidise wage levels. Not the case with Stones which is also fair enough. Hak has stated that he needs 'economical' players. BJT is National League calibre so a move to Stones in the coming season just seems unlikely.

Perhaps BLT is more our level?

Some stuff & nonsense tweeted by ' Mail on line ' this lunch time, fans to be allowed, but no singing:
' MailOnline Sport @mailsport Football fans will be allowed back into stadiums NEXT MONTH... but spectators 'must sign a code of behaviour that could include a BAN on singing' '

Workington Fc have had to call of friendlies and youth games for 14 days as one player tested positive for Covid 19. All the time things like this are happening then fans will not be allowed back in football grounds.

As regards the squad and training, to me we are starting to look neither here nor there. If ground capacity is limited to 1050 and we don't suddenly acquire a sugar daddy to supplement wages, then that leaves the club itself in danger. Indeed, one wonders at the benefits of promotion in these strange times when all it could achieve would be higher bills and lower income. No doubt others will disagree, but sometimes you just have to ride out the storm. In this case, a part time squad, with evening training and maximising the potential of the development squad might just leave us in a better place when things get back to some degree of normality - better able to push for promotion the season after.

Seems to be a distinct lack of trust in Terry and Oliver in some of these posts. I'm sure they're privy to far more information than any of us about likely scenarios for the coming season and yet we still have people predicting the demise of the club and bemoaning the retention of daytime training. After much soul searching Terry and Oliver have made informed decisions about the running of the club. Some of you need to have a bit more faith in them.

I think that's a shade unfair dave. Every supporter that I speak to has every faith in Terry and Oliver and are very grateful for their efforts. However, whatever way you look at it, the season ahead is going to be very, very difficult for them.

We are all soooo grateful to Terry and Oliver and luckily we are still able to have opinions when we don't agree. I don't mind saying i think we should be following a day time part time course in the current climate. T and O decided that an alternative is better. That is fine. This is not North Korea, we can question things. It does not mean anything more than having a different opinion. Just as when people query signings or player performances.

Too true Steve. Personally I am happy with the coaching and recruitment route our owners have chosen. Whatever the direction of our journey ahead, we all want the club to succeed.
