I know we have a few conspiracy theorists on the forum so how about this one.
Premier league owners have for a number of years sat and watched American sports play regular season games abroad and make lots of money, there has been rumblings of the premier league wanting to do the same but fear of a backlash from fans has so far put this on the slow burner.
If the premier league restarts behind closed doors and the fans take to this, by signing up to clubs TV channels or more sky/bt subscriptions then this could open the door that the premier league owners want to allow them to take regular league games and play them abroad to the highest bidders.
