I don't disagree with any of the posts but that also means Im contradicting myself!
Wont be the first time!
I'll go for Swords nose putting Chesmain ahead of George by a runny bogey (yeukk) ahead of Chris by about two more games that will never happen now.
I like Hoytey but Noah is better, younger, more reliable, more exciting and has much more promise, and I agree with everyone about midfield.
Chesmain it is. Lets hope we see him again in the Black and Amber in the not too distant future.

Apart from some different opinions about George, who is well popular with the lads I hang around with, there is plenty of agreement about the quality of our defenders, more as individuals than an entire defence. When you run through the midfield of Khan, Temelci and Corne, nobody is describing them as crap and we need to be rid. We have a couple of decent forwards too. Funny how people mellow in their criticism of our overpaid, lazy, rubbish team, after a few weeks without football.

I don't think anyone is "mellowing", we've been making these sorts of comments all season!

Chesmain for me. Consistent performer, some great goals as well. Also I think if you look at the match threads by default he’s probably the best complained about player

Some good calls - particularly Hoyte, Chesmain, Khan and Wishart, but for sheer solid performances ( bar that one mad moment at Eastbourne) from a player we didn't really expect to see that much, it has to be Lewington. Without him, even our 9th placed 'finish' would have seemed like a dream. Odd though, that I can easily pick five players as potential Player of the season, with possibly another three or four as also-rans, and yet as a team we often performed so badly... So him giving away a penalty in the 90+ minute away at Bath, converting a win to a draw, wasn't a "mad moment"?

Our 'first eleven' and best subs look fairly good on paper. Unfortunately, a combination of injuries and suspensions meant we have rarely had the luxury of that choice. On the other hand, there were key elements lacking throughout. For example: - lack of real pace - lack of skill/confidence on the ball - poor at attacking set pieces - no decent dead ball specialist - lapses of concentration in defence - always all eleven back when we concede corners - at goal kicks, all outfield players always clustered together one side of the centre circle
I think the lack of skill on the ball shows itself most in the one dimensional way we play - sideways passing in defence hoping for a player to run into space (we are not that good at this either), before launching the hoofball. All of the above boils down to lack of quality, either individually or in the coaching and maybe a bit of both. But then we are in the NLS, not the Premier League...

Nicely put together numbers man, certainly has a ring of truth and dose of reality !

Fickle lot, as we are, I wonder what we'd be feeling now if McClure had stayed and kept scoring - and inspiring Akanbi to do the same?
My guess is that we'd be moaning about our promotion chance being taken away from us, rather than how bad the team were...

Possibly, not least because apart from Wealdstone, most of the NLS is fairly ordinary, if not mediocre. Just goes to show the difference between success and not succeeding can be quite small

You are right, McClure is player of the season for me! Yeah let's reward a traitor🤬 If someone offered you more money to work closer to home would you turn it down? Maybe the fault is the club's for not offering him a longer contract, or maybe he simply didn't want one. Who knows, but traitor is a ridiculous term.

He fucked off to a smaller club with little ambition for more money hardly the stuff of LEGENDS is it.
