Only their for the first half tonight, but George E was a star - a great leader, all the players seemed positive and John and Hak handled questions very well.
Key message - good bunch of lads, promotion, and give the fans lots to cheer about, with comments from George about "this great football club".
Honesty about taking time to gel, but all keen to bond and produce results. All in all, a great exercise in rebuilding club spirit between players fans and Managers to finally put the Clown behind us.
Wishart was introduced as very much part of the squad, but no Phillips. JS said he hasn't made up his mind and its all about fitting in with the new squad.
Kit was a bit disappointing, good that it wasn't poncey or OTT but it is actually very plain, very 80's retro (Not 70's as Id hoped!). Back to Amber though, which is good.
Well done MUFC for a great evening. However, I left before the owners Q&A so I'll leave others to give the highlights on that.
COYS!

Owners Q&A nothing to write home about, except they stated they had a meeting regards to segregation and some of the matches will be, namely Billericay, Dartford and a few other obvious ones.
Mentioned the land next to stadium, and that its now ours, but essentially naff all is going to happen until they figure out who else wants to chuck money in the pot.

I love the new kit. Proper throwback to the 80’s. Best kit we have had in a while in my opinion.

Was there any news on any more incoming players at all?

JS said earlier that he is looking to add a couple of midfielders but is in no hurry. He has 'irons in the fire'. I guess he thinks he can do better than Michael Phillips.

Only counted 16 players there. Embury wasn't there understandably and neither was Lewington as coach but probably not really required for this evening and I thought Wishart looked a bit underwhelmed. This only gives us a starting 11 and a bench full.

They talk a good game but from what I’ve seen so far I’m not impressed at all, there targets for players was a lot higher than the players now signed, this is because there actual targets don’t want to play for them.... however they wouldn’t tell you that.
Wishart won’t be there for much longer, the managers don’t want him, shame as I believe his a good player.
I think both managers talk utter rubbish as I know the real reasons as to why certain players from last season are not there, JS mentioned no togetherness last season.... Well if you believe a manager offering to have a punch up with his own players in the dressing room is right then the future of this club is going down hill rapidly, no wonder there was no togetherness
The managers will be given there chance but I don’t see it working with a dinosaur & puppet in charge, I really hope I’m made to eat my words....
I thought the comment from JS about no plan when Jay was in charge is a insult, All the plans in place now like the U23’s is something Jay wanted and asked for but he was told no on every occasion. Jay was the most successful manager that Maidstone have had and he deserves some respect.
Let’s hope this club is united as a family again this season.

Lewington was there Maybe Wishart was underwhelmed as he never expected to be a part of this year which neither did I especially when Phillips may not be. Also Amaluzor was keen to point out he came late last year to try to associate himself with all the newbies which was interesting and not a bad thing at all.

Anybody know why Wishart is still with the club ? JS has repeated the new broom sweeping clean thing. I'm guessing that Wishart is as overpaid as anybody else from last season. The club has recruited all the FB's we need. Other unwanted players have been shipped out even when their contracts run into season 19/20. So what's the difference with Wishart ? By the way this post is not having a go at Wishart, but just wondering about the game plan.

I imagine no other clubs have offered him a deal comparable to his current one so why would he ask for a mutual termination is my guess. I personally think going forward he was good, defensively he had more holes than a colander but I think he could still offer something. BUT if he dosent want to be here, I’d prefer his money be used on someone who does...but at the same time not get someone in who wants to be here, but actual ability is questionable.

Well for a first post you have done well but for the last line it was well written but a club United as a family well that depends on the family,if it's the Waltons we will have a good season but it will all go horribly wrong after the second set of adverts. Now if it wad my family we would al be looking foreward to next year in the Bostik .

Not sure that a description of our managers as a dinosaur and a puppet talking RUBBISH is either well written or justified. John Still did not retire 10 years ago and did not join the Stones after a lengthy absence from football. He is bang up to date with plenty of contacts and knows this level of football inside out. No guarantees of success and he has to do it all over again but please no more slagging off before the season starts. We've got the whole of August 2019 to April 2020 to demand their sackings.

Mr Sutts may be right about the JS/Hak struggle to get players - that was my summer panic - but I hope he is wrong, and I hope I was too!. He may be right about Wishart not staying though.
The Managers don't talk rubbish, they just have to be very diplomatic and they don't HAVE to tell us everything - just enough to keep us on board, and JS2 is still on the ball, although I do still worry about Hak, who even last night seemed more interested in his mobile phone than listening to the proceedings - unless of course he was communicating with a red hot new signing!
JS2 didn't insult Jay, he complimented him for his achievements, and I think John's comments were more about the GENERAL lack of structure of the club which Jay also wanted in place but didn't get (sadly).
If only JS2 and JS1 could have worked together (sigh)! Moving on though, the club did feel more like a family again last night, albeit on their first night sharing a house together!

Unless they can come to a mutual agreement or someone comes in with a better offer the club has no choice, either keep him on or buy out the rest of his contract.
