Doesn't want to do full time training, per the article, so probably not on.

Id prefer to have Bobby Joe and Worgs back from Dover but again, very unlikely

Have a huge regard for Worgs. but in NLS you'll need a Keeper not afraid to come & deal with humped in crosses & Worgs isn't that man. Besides if all we've got to show for JS'2 s lengthy scouting trips is to try to resign older former players then we've been conned !

Worgs did alright in NLS before...........but you are right, we need to stop looking to old glories with Jays squad and welcome Hakan and Johns shiney new NLS squad as it appears.

There will soon be hundreds of players released by clubs at various levels. I'm not interested in reliving past glories when there is a future to plan.

We COULD get him back, but it won't and shouldn't happen.
We need to sign good players who will be here for more than just beyond one season to build a team around. Theres no point in signing players the wrongside of 30 who will be wanting to wind things down. You might get away with it being a keeper, but at the heart of midfield we need energy and players with a spring in their step.

Agreed. Personally still think it is a brave move to stay 'full time', in order to do a Torquay and bounce straight back. Equally, we might achieve it, but then do a Braintree and become a yo-yo club. If we are to bounce straight back, will we be ready, finance wise, to have another crack at the NL, after just one year in the NLS? Really not sure. There again, if we can recruit some exciting young players, with a few more experienced ones to hold them together, then who knows? One thing for sure, should we find some young stars, we need to make sure we get decent fees for them, if they move on. Joe Pigott seems to be thriving in L1 now and what's to say he won't command a six figure fee if he moves on? That sort of money, plus a couple of decent cup runs, could set us up nicely.

Observations on this site that we could not get Lewis or Tom Mills because we are full time. Listen to us ..!! Fulltime in a part time league means we cannot attract some of the best players at NLS level. Players that would compete, fight and have passion for the Stones. More EFl U23s it is likely to be then..

A hell of a lot more than any of our Midfielders that have played since!

No. Sane and sensible post (as per).

The whole point of competitive sport is to try and win, otherwise you might as well not bother.

Fulltime in a part time league means we cannot attract some of the best players at NLS level. Players that would compete, fight and have passion for the Stones. More EFl U23s it is likely to be then.. I'm getting fed up with hearing this old chestnut. Part time players are no different to full time ones, except they have no ambition. At the end of the day they are all playing for what they can get out of the game. The reason out part time players shone was because they were playing for the big fish in a small pond. You only have to look at social media to see that the players you're referring to have as much passion for the clubs they are at now as they ever had for us. It's not about being a "Stone". If we want to progress it's no good harking back to part time players with no ambition. We need to get hungry players who want to play as high as possible and at the same time put themselves in the shop window. Players that, when the time comes, we can move on in return for a decent fee.
