Some rumours going around about Jack Paxman and none of them sounding very positive about his prospects. Not usually one to listen to car park gossip but on the other hand - - - - - In which case Jack has probably played his last match for the club. Shame. I think JP is a Jay Saunders original and there is not much of that vintage left in the squad. One of my favourite players, worked hard, good skills, always tried to pass the ball, creative etc. I suspect it won't be the last time we will see Jack playing at the Gallagher, but next time it may not be in black and amber. Wouldn't be surprised if Jay tries to take him 'down to Margate'

Having signed for the Stones on 1/8/15 Jack Paxman is the last survivor of our Conference South squad other than the then 16 year-old Jack Richards who made his debut at Chelmsford on 28/3/16

He hasn't been good enough for a couple of seasons. I think the main reason why we've probably failed at this level is sorely down to him and us bending over backwards accommodating him and his position. He's technically good but doesn't have a footballing brain for national league, always gets out battled and the opposition force him into make errors anyway. Conf south player at best and even though we're heading there I think he's had to many chances, thus should be the first to get the boot come end of the season.

Spot on Mr Plow. It is all Jack's fault.

I think it’s a bit of a failing of the club (and whichever management we’ve had in place at the time) that a player with such obvious raw talent hasn’t been able to develop him into the player he’s threatening to be, I remember Stu Lewis saying he has the potential to be a league player. This season hasn’t been great for any of our players, but he has consistently been played out of position on the right instead in the obvious “10” role he should be in. A lot of people have said that this is a league too far for him, which maybe true, but since we seem certain to be playing in the NS next season wouldn’t it make sense to keep him and try and develop some sort of understanding with Embery.

[br Not if JS and HH don’t rate him which is what Saturday suggests! In which case wish him well elsewhere.

I think if he had departed a lot earlier along with the other notable crap players we had, I think our formation and shape would of improved, he is a play maker (apparently) but he brings no use to team. He played 3 full seasons of national league and his stats are terrible, home and away this season seen the same problems, gets caught in possession, the opposition just crowd him and mark him out the game. Simple stuff really.
The balance of the team as well...why would you play Paxman, Powell and Muldoon in the same team? It doesn't make sense...
I think JS had already seen this problem. I think he prefers Powell and he probably should be the luxury in a tried and tested formation for next year. Get an experience set of midfielders next year that complement Powell or whoever. Paxman we should of been done with along time ago....

Pax is a black and amber man who didn’t fulfill his potential but is still better than many of the multitudes who have been here during his time with us who didn’t even deserve the shirt.
