Cassidy on his own will not save us. It is about the right combinations of players, with sufficient quality and the right attitude. He has the quality and the positive attitudes and while he may not be a 20 goal a season striker, he will make a difference, as he has already shown. Will be very good for team spirit too. Really hope he is coming back. Cassidy, Romain, plus Turgott coming back might just make a difference, especially if we can somehow find a target man from somewhere.

I take it we're all supremely confident he's not going to "do a DSY" on us? I get the point. He does fulfill that brief - hard working, non-goal scoring - but I think I trust John Still to play him in his position and to get a partnership going. No, you didn't
In my terms "doing a DSY" is somehow managing to be 'great' on loan whilst not so effective when contracted. Nothing about work rate or goal scoring.
Don't think this will happen but I felt the posts on this thread were getting slightly over excited yesterday and my question was an attempt to remind us to keep our feet on the floor.
One player signing (which he apparently hasn't done yet) wont 'make our season' but it would be a good step towards it.

I just hope he doesn’t read some of the crap on this message board before signing! Every fans forum I've ever looked at is just like this one, and some are worse. If players chose whether to sign or not sign for a team based on comments on a fans forum, they'd never play the game again.

No signing yet.! Let us hope it is not just the scribblings of an over imaginative reporter from Hartlepool that has driven this speculation.
In the meantime we can get on guessing who would be Cassidy's best striking partner if he does sign. Romain seems favourite although personally I prefer the look of Robinson.
Whatever, if Turgott eventually returns with some of his pre injury fitness and form, then the attack will look decent. If !

Romain for me misses to many chances, Robinson I have not seen enough of him yet to form an opinion. Wish we would play a 4-4-2 with wingers to get the ball to the by-line so our forwards could be running onto the ball instead of receiving the ball from over their shoulders.

Breaking news: Hartlepool sign Charlton Athletic striker ! Reading another thread from their site , they said that Jake Cassidy would only be sold if they found a suitable replacement for him. Let's hope that it means good news for the many forum fans on here that want him back at Maidstone. COYS. 🖤💛⚽️

I just hope he doesn’t read some of the crap on this message board before signing! I can’t see any real negative posts. If you are talking about mine I was just stating a fact about his scoring record. As I have said previously I like jake a lot and will be delighted if he returns. I actually said to my friends his hold up play and style was very reminiscent of Mark Hughes! What other negative posts have I missed?

Are we going to be disappointed ? Some weeks ago I seem to recall that we were told by the club that his wage expectations were too high. The impression was that his loan deal was partly funded by Hartlepool topping up his pay. Here we are at the 11th hour and Hartlepool appear to be saying that the Stones are backing off because of Cassidy's wage demands. Clearly more going on but there seems Jake may yet escape the Stones net.
