I take it we're all supremely confident he's not going to "do a DSY" on us? I'm glad you said that - I wouldn't have dared for fear of being labelled negative! But, I actually think 'doing a DSY' isn't a thing - it just happened to DSY, not because he relaxed once he was on contract, but because he is just an avarage player who happened to have a purple patch when on loan with us. It happens.

Well, he did score 28 in 32 for Llandudno Junction a few years back In fairness his goal tally at previous league and NL clubs isn't that bad (187 apps, 38 goals - I excluded his goalless appearances for Wolves as he was playing Championship and above) and given the fact we can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo at the moment, he will be welcome as far as I'm concerned. He always looked up for it and we need players who want to be here and showing some fight. I agree with you about being happy to have him back as definitely an upgrade on what we have!! Although if you are going to include welsh league then maybe you should include championship as well 😉 I didn't include his Llandudno goals in the stats. I mentioned that but they weren't included. For the record, he scored those 28 goals at the age of 16 and had his best spell of scoring at a higher level, playing for Tranmere in League 1 as a youngster on loan from Wolves. Somewhere down the line, the goals dried up a bit - I wonder why?

Should we go down I think we could build a great team around Cassidy and Robinson/Romaine.

It happens. Cass looks like a class act at this level. DSY, as you say, had a purple patch. I always admired DSY for putting in a shift, and remember the excitement he showed when he'd scored twice against Cheltenham. So much so that he got himself a straight red for an enthusiastic challenge shortly afterwards. No, Cass is a fantastic buy. Hold on to your seats.

I suggest a moving grafting Mullins type. But not Mullins because he was rubbish.

I very much doubt anything will happen this time of night but expect him to be unveiled in time for Thursday's gig at the Gallagher.

I take it we're all supremely confident he's not going to "do a DSY" on us? I get the point. He does fulfill that brief - hard working, non-goal scoring - but I think I trust John Still to play him in his position and to get a partnership going. Cassidy has a lot of ability, and I would rather put my money on JS being able to bring out the best in him, and others around him, then the Dealer would ever have been able to do.

Quite frankly, given our current plight, we should be on our knees in grovelling gratitude to anyone half decent willing to sign a contract with Maidstone United.

I just hope he doesn’t read some of the crap on this message board before signing! Indeed, although the views expressed on Cass himself here have generally been positive, mainly because of his obvious commitment & ' will to win ' shown on the pitch.
