Threats to the managers family should never happen at any level(take note Burnley fans). As for the rest of the text I can assure you Dunstable Town are not alone with these problems as they affect 1000's of non-league clubs the length and breadth of the country. One such club was Morpeth Town fc situated about 15 miles from Newcastle ,when I visited the Chairman/owner was on the tractor cutting the grass he was also kitman,gateman,barman selling beers he brewed himself in a garage as well cooking chips and burgers until his wife had finished watching Emmerdale. The attendance that night was 7 and so I asked him why he bothered and he replied that someone had to keep the club alive it may as well be me. They nearly died but things got better ,an Fa Vase run to the final at Wembley plus two successive promotions and they sit top of the league at this moment looking to make it three and now they get gates of 4-500 at home so clubs like Dunstable should keep going at all costs for the wheel of fortune keeps on turning and maybe your time is coming next. |
