Current average attendance of 2241 times 25 home league and cup games equals £56,025 extra income for every extra pound. Not a fortune in football terms, but if the club were to ask everyone to pay an extra £3 and promise to spend the money on wages, that would bring in £168,075 every year. As ever, increased success would see higher income, with the risk of attendances and income dropping if things fail to improve.

Trouble with that is exactly what Sword says some people cannot afford increased prices. Maybe the club could open up a direct debit of some kind so those that are fortunate enough to afford a payment can do so an those that cannot are not made to feel inferior. Plus it could be a voluntary donation each month. You're right, of course, but we have to face the harsh commercial realities of being in the NL. And Sword could always have one beer less! At West Ham, they had a scheme where you could buy a ST on credit, but pay it off over the season. At the time, it was the only way I could afford a ST - and hence the only way I could watch the big games (UP holding only about 36,000 at the time), so it was very welcome. But you paid a fairly hefty interest charge - which, of course, didn't go to the club. Maybe MUFC could do something like this and administer it themselves - although that's probably a big ask.

It will be interesting to see how it is Tuesday, post Harry and after yesterday's win.

Please remember Steve some of us are not so rich that we can afford price rises. I have said it before but what is the point of having a football club if you cannot afford to watch it? I was just posing the question. If we need funds then surely being one of the cheapest clubs does not make sense?? Or does it increase the crowd who then spend on beer and burgers? A tricky thing to get right. You also have to remember that 50% of the clubs in this league are ex league clubs who have been relegated but have refused to drop prices making their own fans pay for FAILURE . We are still on the way up(or on the way down) so we have not yet attained the heights of these clubs. Should we go down, heaven forbid, will the clubs in the South be saying we only charge £12 whilst Maidstone are ripping us off for £15? You are right Steve it is tricky but I can no longer afford to go to most away games would you at anybody else deny me home games as well. Finally this is not a pop at you Steve as I have known you for years and fully respect you and your opinions.

Decent financial statistics from dracula does support the case for an increase in charges where the income could be diverted to a significant increase for the wages bill and strengthening of the playing staff. But on the other hand it assumes no reduction to attendances which is unlikely. We have already seen some decline in attendances this season partly due to results but also quality of football. Better football and better results = higher attendances and increased income. Personally I think the club has got it's charging policy about right.

I'm already half expecting us to keep the same prices if we get relegated.
Charging 15 quid to watch the likes of Concord, Chippenham, Oxford etc is sure to go down well with the masses.

£20 at Borehamwood was a f**king joke. The place is a dump. Couldn’t even get a beer But £20 STILL isn’t enough to enable them to afford electricity in the toilets !! 😂 Pissing in the dark.... Blame me - the lights went out during my first visit to the toilet at 2.30pm. Thought some clever sod turned the lights out on me, but maybe away fans are only given half an hour loo light per match.
