And playing quite well. Cassidy, the back four and Romain stand out so far, but easy to see why Wrexham are top. A bit like watching Macc or BW from last season and, whisper it quietly, we are playing football too. The ref has already disgraced himself for three shite decisions inside two minutes, including booking Phillips for a clean tackle that was nowhere near their player. Fodrup looks tricky, but knows how to cheat too, while Turgott and Paxman not getting a look in. 0-0 would still be a good result, but we came more and more into it as the half wore on. Still not win at home in the league since Barrow,in August, remember. Personally, I think Philips tackle was not a good one, as he jumped in. I thought the ref was spot on with the booking. Where I was standing Phillips wasn’t even close to the player. Like there big centre forward they were cheating bastards. I think they were shocked that we were a decent outfit and do what most teams that come here. Cheat

Another brilliant game. Not as glamorous as winning, obviously, but in many ways more important - we were as good as (if not better in the second half) the top-of-the-table side, and should have got all three points. Their goal was a very rare attack for them, and completely against the run of play. But for that deflection (from who?), it would have just been yet another speculative shot at goal, easily stopped by Smith. I don't remember Smith making more than two or three serious saves in the whole game. In fact it's a good measure of how far we've come that Smith has far less to do than Worgan did - or the Wrexham goalie in the 2nd half!
Very hard to pick a MotM, as everyone played so well today. Even Walton would be up for the award, and not just for the goal - but what a goal! If I had to pick one, it would probably be Romain - he's come on so much over the last few games, he almost out-Turotts Turgott at times. Masses of energy and commitment, fantastic skills and a totally selfless player.
Went to the game expecting to get beaten, but hoping it would only be by the odd goal, but came away thinking we'd been unlucky to lose two points - against one of the league's top sides! It's a measure of how far we've come under Harry that we play the top side and feel disappointed that we didn't win.
One aspect of the game that only occurred to me as it happened was that I am no longer apprehensive about subs. I always used to wonder if it was a mistake and the sub coming on wouldn't be as good as the player going off, but now I find myself actually looking forward to seeing what the new player can do, and what tactical change Harry is making. His subs feel like intelligent moves to control the game, not just throw someone on and hope something happens. I'll never diss Jay, he is still Mr Maidstone to me, but it's starting to feel like Harry is a step up from what we're used to at JWW.
Odd to find yourself, stuck at 18th, and still with only one home win, actually looking forward to the rest of the season and wondering how far up the table we can get. Good times!
My only (slightly) negative point is Turgott's wild shots at goal - these have been a feature of the last two games. I can understand his frustration at the opposition trying to stop him playing , but taking a shot from yards out and watching it sail wide is not the answer. Harry needs to work with him to get him to take advantage of his close marking - if they've got two or three players on Turgott, that leaves plenty of space for other players, like Cassidy, Paxman or Romain to exploit. But first of all, they need to have the ball passed to them!

He had time to make the tackle and did it well, it wasn't a careless, hasty challenge. But it was just where they wanted a free kick, so down the player went - and the ref was suckered in, as always. Although actually not as bad a ref as I'd feared - he did their no 9 for diving and generally ingored their play-acting and cheating. But where the hell did he get 4 minutes of extra time from? It's starting to feel like that's just the standard that refs always add on.

I love that Blair Turgott can make something from nothing and do the completely unexpected, but yes, he needs to pass a little more often.

Lots of valid points, to which I will add that this is the first home league game this season where I did not feel in any way that we might concede in the final minutes. The defence at last looks like it will take something special (or freakish) to get past them. Even the way the subs warm up during the game is properly thought out. The other Mr Lewis takes players in pairs to do proper routines. Seeing the Wrexham subs having a bit of a jog and a chat shows how much the new management are bringing to our game. Long may they prosper.

I think he has double-jointed knees! Can't see us holding on to him though, there must be scouts at every game. Let's just hope he likes it here so much, he'll want to stay for the whole season.

A couple of earlier posts complimented McLennan on his performance at FB today. I agree he played well. Pleased that he has turned the corner and is now delivery quality football consistently. Indeed, my vote for MOTM today, just shaded it over Romaine and Cassidy who both put in a hell of a shift.

Long may they prosper. The level of skill and awareness has noticeably improved too - as well as general fitness. We play a lot more intelligent football, and today we kept it on the ground and passed far more than we used to. Only two balls went over the fence and none on the stands - when was the last time that happened? And watching players making great passes and receiving and controlling the ball is not something you generally expect at this level. Some of the stuff today would have graced a PL game. Lucky for us that Tamplin is such a wanker!

Turgott I would drop cos I think he’s not a team player lately. Midfield Pax, Powell, etc. are kinda linking now and taking the pressure of the defence.Think Walton as usual scares the shit out me cos Es so on the edge. Great goal. Es a leader though, wot we need Swaine coming in , solid. Unlucky for the deflection. Smith just a bit of class. Again as was said earlier we dropped points to the league leaders who we made look ordinary. Play Offs here we come. COYS

Added time comes in at 30 seconds per sub, and I think 30 seconds per goal to allow for the restart, so that would make 4mins about right.

The playing surface is coming under some bad criticism on their forum which I don t think is justified. Can t remember anyone slipping and sliding around the park as they suggest. Think they re secretly bitter that 2 points have been dropped!! Apart from the first half hour we matched them in all departments and in the end they were extremely fortunate to get the point.

Funny how so many other teams turn us over on our plastic pitch. But poor old Wrexham can't figure out how to do it. If they want to play away on grass, they need to up their game and escape this league.
