On a completely unrelated point - what are the words to the 'every Saturday' chant? I'm gradually pieceing them together, but still can't get some lines. Real ear-worm of a tune - sticks in my head for days after games! It's an interesting one but I think a bit much and goes on too long. Not moaning though it's good we're trying new ones. I did miss the we love you we love you etc at the end, thought that would have been more apt! "On Saturday we follow, on saturday we sing, the best support in non league, (we're?) the famous county town... anyone give the next part cause I don't know that bit... Whooough whooough whooough whooough whooough whooough on Saturday.....

The military walkout with the teams was very moving. Impecabbly observed. Proud to be British Indeed, and the last post always brings a lump to my throat.

Whooough whooough whooough whooough whooough whooough on Saturday..... Hahaha no there's another chorus... I know it's something about the hard times, not that there's been many since 2012 😁 From the fb page... James Marshall For the people that weren’t at Barnet. The song that we sung most of the time went like this. Every Saturday we follow We stand and we sing We’ve got the best support in non league We’re the famous county town Though times they have been hard We follow near and far You will always hear us roaring From the stands of Gallagher...

I take it that Walton is suspended for Round 2 (though available for any replay) for reason of having picked up his 2nd yellow card in this season's competition?
[booked: v Orient: Muldoon, Walton, Phillips v Macc: Cassidy, Romain, Walton ]

Ground was rammed. Did Diane Abbott count the crowd?? All very Jim Thompson-esq. Rammed? Are you having a laugh - less there today than your average league game. Do you call 60 in the away end rammed lol?

Sounds about right. But it sounds (to me) like "Every Saturday we follow, Every Saturday we sing", which I think actually sounds better! I like the way they rhyme 'far' with 'Gallagher'... I assume this is adapted from an existing football song? Any idea which one?

The military walkout with the teams was very moving. Impecabbly observed. Proud to be British It was very moving - and The Last Post was played superbly (not an easy piece to play). The silence was observed perfectly too, not a single interruption, just the sound of the traffic in the distance. Usually people just go along with these things out of respect, without really knowing who the person was, etc (like the minute's silence at Barnet), but I got the impression today that everyone was mentally with the poor sods in the trenches and the many who have since given their lives and health so we can enjoy the easy, peaceful life we do today. Surprising lack of poppies around the ground though. A few years ago everyone would have been wearing one - maybe it's going out of fashion, but surely this year of all years...

Not sure they are going out of fashion but like all things in this country ,ie Christmas, we start selli g things too early . I bought my first poppy the second week in October and have since bought 2 more and they get damaged or lost. Why are we selling them nearly five weeks before the event. They should sell then from November only any earlier and people forget why they but them especially youngsters

Not sure where where you got ‘great’ from? Self praise is no recommendation. I say you are just a bit biased. No self-praise in it. Tim implied that my posts are so magnificent that people are logging on from all over the place to read. It was a nice compliment from him to me and I merely said thank you.
