If you want to drive yourself mental, spend half an hour checking out the allocations of clubs to the new Sticky leagues - especially below Premier level. Whoever came up with this idea and then allocated the clubs was on drugs. There must be a lot of 'southern' clubs out there wondering a) why they have been put into an entirely inappropriate league (Met Police, for instance), and b) why they even bothered about last season (Walton Casuals, for instance). The most mindboggling bit is looking at the map of the clubs in the four new Southern League leagues - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Football_League. Apart from the fact that Wiki seem to have mixed up East and Central (or the drugs were even stronger than I thought), the whole thing is full of anomalies - for example: a Central club further west than most Western clubs, five Western clubs further south than most Southern clubs, and an Eastern club further west than all but one of the Central clubs and seven of the Western clubs! The map is also full of local derbies where the rival club is in a different division. Again and again, under the new arrangements, supporters will be travelling to away games, but passing nearer clubs in a different division!

That’s the reason why the Met Police Manager has resigned, he said it was just too far for him to travel as he lives in Essex, think he had been there 15 years

I think you may be missing the point that the Central/ South are at Step 3 and East/ West at step 4. Hence the allocations are based on heirachy rather than geography which if you then look again makes much more sense.

I thought I understood the new structure, but now I clearly don't. I haven't got the time to go through it again at the moment, but I'll have another look later on to see if I can make sense of it all. Chances are, though, I'm not the only one utterly confused by all this - and I haven't even looked at the Isthmian structure in detail yet (although, on first glance, it looks less confusing). The northern clubs must be looking down at all this with amazement!
