Think we should keep Worgan, although he should not be the number 1 keeper. Would keep Seth because he has done well as Right Wing Back and he is also comfortable at Right-Back, should Jay choose to play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3. We will do to keep Finney any longer and same with De Hallivand, but if we could keep eother of them, it would be good. Shpuld keep Hare as well as a utlilty player across the back four or in center midfield. Think Anderson should go, started off well but faded away. The defence has leaked too many this season, but look what Dover did in the summer. They now have a good defence compared to last season, where they had one of (if not the worst goal difference) in the top half of the league. Turgott needs to stay, he is class player on his day, but needs to find some consistancy. If Phillips had joined earlier this season, he may have got my player of the season vote. We need to keep hold of him. Should keep Lewis as well, althought depending on what formation Jay plays next season from game to game, he may not be a regular starter. WOuld keep Wraight as think he has been good over the season and not got the minutes he has deserved. Personally, I think we should also keep Loza but give him a short term contarct until January and seeing what he manages to do will be dependent on him getting an extenstion. Need to keep Coker as well. He may not get the goals but they will come overtime as he gets used to playing up front and the running he does allows the wide players to come inside, so him and Turgott or Wraight or Loza could work well in each others position. Delano needs to go, as does Paxman. Neither of them have been good enough this season. Not been overly convinced by Osei either so would not be too upset if he left, especially if it meant freeing up wages so we could sign Cheek from Dagenham, but it would not be a major shock to see him sign for Fleet or Billericay. On the first day of next season, my line-up would be: New Keeper Seth Finney (hopefully) or new Centre Back De Hallivand (hopefully) or new Centre Back New Left Back Wynter Phillips Lewis Turgott Coker Loza/Wraight (unless we have a new striker, in which case Coker starts out wide with the new man up top) Broadly agree, and in addition start to put players on 2 year contracts, with a relegation clause for motivation and higher buy out clauses than Pigotts. As I have said elsewhere we should also look to bring in someone like Michael Cheek (or failing that, Lafayette) who can bang in the goals as none of the current players seem to be particularly prolific. Also can we bring back BJT as a wing back or left back in the Leighton Baines mould?

Interestingly the most contentious players are worgan and loza. Worgs has cost us too many points (yes I know he's made good saves - but that's what he's supposed to do). Agree with the comments about Loza - needs to get fitness and sharpness back. Keeper, fullbacks, a mobile defensive midfielder and a couple of goal scorers. And definitely keep Wraight. 'Worgs has cost us too many goals'..really? Apart from Eastleigh what other games?? He has been let down by poor decision making by defenders...

The thing about Loza is that after a bad injury he returned to play in early December, and has had around 1,500 playing minutes to reach his season's tally of one goal. He also seems to have lost some of his sharpness, fitness and speed. Such a class player though, I would love to see him back to his best. Another difficult call for Jay.

Lots of interesting comments about the theme, but the most telling ones for me have not been about players, but their contracts. Two years for the really good ones, to give them some security and hopefully loyalty. Relegation clauses built in, to keep them hungry too. Anyone we are less sure about, but think they have potential, maybe only until January, with options to stay on if they do well. Like the idea of higher buy out clauses too. Pigott went far too cheaply.

Whilst JS starts to sort out his squad for next season, I hope and pray he works out a plan B against teams and builds a squad around this because too many times this season we have fallen flat on our faces because we had no plan B once teams had worked out how we were playing.

Pigott went far too cheaply. All sounds great in theory but you are not living in the real world. If we had demanded a higher release clause pigs probably wouldn’t have signed at all!! Better to have him for half a season then not at all. As for the offering contact until January how many players will go for that? We would just get the players that can’t get anything elsewhere. 2 year contracts are risky if the player turns out to be a dud you are stuck with the expense. How will these 2 year contracts affect the wage budget!

2 year contracts will not affect the wage budget as it is a revenue expenditure not a capital cost (they don't give the player all of his wages on day 1). I do also recall that JS recently stated that he was envious of Sutton where they already had them in place in the interests of stability. As with any contracts, release clauses and the like, everything is subject to negotiation and agreement between the individual and club.

How will these 2 year contracts affect the wage budget! Firstly, the comments are a summary of other people's ideas on this thread. They are also a response to a key problem since we have been in the NL - that of too many short term loan players, with little long term allegiance to the club, plus short notice recalls like we have had for Lafayette, Be Keith and DeHavilland. If longer, tighter contracts are not the answer to this problem, it will be interesting to hear of alternatives.

KM online today states Jay will speak to players after the game regarding contracts for next season. He is looking at securing the nucleus of the squad and expects to lose some and will let others go! For me retaining the nucleus of the squad is a scarey thought depending on who that is 🤔 If he means Wynter, Lewis and Worgan then great, if he means Reason, DSY and Prestedge then I better practice my disappointed look combined with over the top eye role 🙄

Also Borehamwood and Macclesfield at home You are joking right? Worgs and Wynter were equally responsible for that first goal.

How many "Worgan errors" were down to dodgy back-passes - a habit which I think has largely stopped?
At Milton Keynes he only parried 2 or 3 straight to another MK player but he's generally an exceptional shot-stopper for this level.

While he undoubtedly went through a dodgy patch, and who hasn't, I think he has come through it well. Partly, this is the result of far fewer back passes. It annoyed me so much I used to count them compared to the opposition and we have got much less reliant on this. I also think his kicking has been getting greater distance, while he is also quicker to look for the thrown pass out too. Add in the fact that he genuinely cares about every game and for me, he is still very much worth his place

Agree we went through a stage of excessive back passing. Wondered if this was connected with Worgs as captain demanding the ball ?
