And this... Don't remember anything about this magazine, and this appears to be the only issue I bought. Attachment DeletedLooks like Mark Hill (?) in the photo - but not in our strip. (Was that his name? He was captain for the Watford game.)

It must have been a photo from the previous season, so maybe he'd moved on? The name Mickey Joyce comes to mind, but not with any great certainty! Attachment Deleted

Could have been Joyce - he was with us 83-85 (before and after at Sutton). But the only photo I can find of him, he looks nothing like the picture on the programme cover!

Last ones for tonight - a couple from the 'golden age' of fanzines. One was produced by Bryan Reed, the other by Mike George - I'll let you guess which was well written and informative and which was a pile of shite... Attachment Deleted

Blimey - I'd forgotten him completely. Although, looking through those programmes, it's amazed me how many names and faces I do remember. I can mentally picture dozens of players from those years, but hardly any from the last 6. Probably because we've had such an incredible squad turnover with all those promotions. That, or my short-term memory is fucked...

Are you getting mixed up with the Charlton game? I don't really remember the Palace game. In fact I get it mixed up with the Man City testimonial for Kenny Hill two years later. At one of those games the away fans took over the 'shed' and (unless I'm totally confused, there was a bit of bother - stuff/things being thrown?). I've always thought that was City, but I suppose it's more likely to be Palace. I went with my neighbour to both games (a VERY fair weather supporter), so ended up where he always stood - right at the top of Critics Corner! Which is probably why I don't remember much about the games.

Having now found my reading glasses, I can tell you that it was an FAC 4th round qualifying game between Letchworth (hoops) and Chelmsford) October(?) 1987. Pretty sure Mark was still playing for us then.
