Looking at the pictures, the salient question I would ask is why is everything brown ? So not just £ 550 K for the pub, but a few extra grand for a desperately needed make over ….

I've not been there in years, but it was always a bit dark inside. The fact it has no car park is not good for passing trade

I know how you feel, after 5 months of having my foot in plaster, and being laid up for most of the time, i finally got taken out of plaster, given a walker boot, and get partially mobile again, only to be told 3 weeks later, that there has been a set back and im now in plaster again for the next 8 weeks at least!

Went to Drake's on a recent Tuesday and there must have been 15 to 20 people in there. Been past on the bus a couple of times since and it looked empty. The walls and general decor look quite bare at the moment; needs time to develop its own style and character.

As a now resident of Tonbridge (no choice in the matter) I am saddened to see the Primrose closed and set for demolition to make way for residential properties. On the bright side though a new bar the 'Beer Seller' has been open around 6 weeks now and is flourishing. The pub is a real ale pub eith at least 5 ales on at anyone time it also has real ciders, craft ales and curious brew to stop the lager boys moaning. The pub is slap bang in the middle of the high street and is well worth a visit if you are out this way. PS. All ales reasonably priced at £3.60 a pint. As a follow up to this post I have to say it's nice to see Stones fans coming to have a look so far I have met 6 but I am pretty sure there are others when I am not about.

Just noticed the £3.60 a pint bit. I drink so rarely these days that the price of a pint always catches me out (paid close to a fiver for one the other day!!). My first ever pint was 2/6* - although no doubt there are posters on here who drank for less than that... (*one of the rare benefits of decimalation - the new price was 12.5p, which you can't halve, so half pints were 6p. Two halves, instead of a pint, and you saved a ha'penny!)
