Really depressing story in the NLP about 'gate - a highly professional 'break in' last Thursday robbed the club of money & spirits.
Lowest ebb in Thanet.....................

I don't think I'm in the minority by saying this is completely shit for them. They may be rivals but what they have been through/are going through is crap.
I do find it quite sad when any club has difficulties for whatever reason that may see them go. They may have a small number of idiots who support them but don't we all?
Aside from the break in the main problems they have now are from a multi millionaire tax exile who probably thought it would be a good pet project for him. He soon buggered off leaving them with serious problems.
I hope they can work things out.

Well said jt.
No doubt there will be plenty gloating and saying "we told you so", but this is pretty shit. Aside from when half of our team jumped ship for them a while back, we've only ever really had a couple of years rivalry with them ever - and that's all it was - rivalry.
Sadly, individuals (with or without money) are able to take over clubs and (intentionally or not) leave them in the shit - and nothing is ever done against those responsible.

Margate lose 0 - 3 at home to fellow strugglers Bishops Stortford yesterday to fall to the foot of National South. 469 @ Hartsdown ( in the circumstances, a reasonable crowd ).

Can't see them avoiding relegation. But will they even survive in the IPL? The trouble with splashing all your money on players, is that when things go shit shaped you've got nothing to show for it. Whatever happens to us, we still have an excellent ground - which 'we' own, and which makes money on its own. Those who are criticising O & T for not buying us out of relegation should bear this in mind.

Its no surprised really when their manager has said they have a Ryman South budget.....he also made a comment which sums up our current struggles in the National League "People simply do not realise the kind of money that players get paid in this division. Conference South is what the Conference was eight or nine years ago. Then people could play in the conference and do another job if they wanted to but today the conference is effectively League 3."www.kentonline.co.uk/thanet/sport/bull-swimming-against-the-tide-118085/
