Got held by Met Police today 2-2. Still outright favourites of course, but I imagine not quite as Tamplin imagined it. Margate still doing really well - 3rd on the same points as Hamlet (although DH have a couple of games in hand). Steve Watt has really proved himself. And Mills back from injury (although only on the bench). Imagine what they'd have been like with a fit Flish... With all the rubbish going on would you let the police hgave at least a point? |

A long time ago you did have to be but a previous commissioner stopped allowing officers to have time off to play Now days it's just another name for a football club. It's funded by the subscriptions officers and staff pay for a monthly lottery. |

I've always wondered just how much 'the police' they really are - do you have to be serving in the Met to play in the team? With your penchant for research I am surprised you hadn't taken the necessary steps to find this out! |

Lost again tonight at Folkestone. 2 defeats in a row, playing Saturday Tuesday till the end of the season and claims today that the club won't survive if the poor attendances continue. Are the wheels starting to come off for Tamplin?

He expects thousands every week and is deluded beyond belief. Who'd have thought a wage budget of 30k a week and only getting 1000 or so in you would be losing money.
He was angry only 600 or so turned up to their Essex cup game midweek two divisions above we managed similar numbers. His expectations are ludicrous.
Now he's said if they lose on saturday he will sack himself!

But after all the money he's spent on Billericay? I suppose he's got a better chance of getting somewhere with D&R, so it must be tempting. Amazing that, after all the history of idiots spunking money on small clubs, getting angry that crowds don't magically increase, and then throwing their toys out of the pram and stalking off in a sulk, that he might have realised that he wasn't going to succeed at Ricay? It can be done, but it takes time to build up support - a lot of time. |
