No, not Gillingham! We're not playing anywhere near well enough to live with the crap we'll get if they tonk us! Have you seen how Gillingham are playing at the moment. Their current form makes us look like promotion contenders, and let's be honest, our current team is better than the one that beat Stevenage a couple of years ago.

I'm in Poland the day of the First Round game so I'm hoping for a crap draw. Proper non-league fodder for us to beat at home, and save the decent league sides for when I'm back!
Saying that, I may be cancelling my trip come 7.20pm when I see who we've got...

From a purely economic view, I'd suggest we'd want something like: Round 1 - Westfields (H) Round 2 - Blackpool (A) (hope to bring them back to the Gallagher for a replay) Round 3 - Gills (A) Round 4 - Man United (A) Blimey get to round 3 and draw Gills! Now that would be disappointing!

Yup, can't see how Westfields in round 1 is economically better than Gillingham...or indeed anyone else!

Things might have changed but the clkub only pay for police inside the ground. If there are a load outside it comes out of the police budget Whatever ...where ever we will be TOLD to have more than the usual two ,it's how many are in attandance locally ....They played H &Waterloo away a few years back the local plod put loads of restrictions in place and the chairman said the game cost them thousands ,thus wiping out any profit and prize money made. So no thanks Checked at work and outside isn't the club's worry money wise. Of you can prove you have enough stewards you don't need any in the ground. I could go into the whole scenario of what they can/CAN'T do inside but I think I've bored enough people already.

Christ, through pure curiosity I went there. It's 10 minutes from where I work and they were doing 10 quid tickets when they played Accrington Stanley. Long story short, don't bother. It's an away day through a shopping centre. 50 minutes to get in easy, and an absolute nightmare to get out of. They are nowhere near figuring out how to use it as a football stadium yet! Most deluded, dickhead fans in the land as well. I'd take a jaunt to Scunthorpe away over that. Must be bad, few things in life are worse than Scunthorpe away! To be fair, when we played Scunny (as they are known up here) in Div 4 I had the best chicken pie of my life. If they've got the same suppliers I'd be happy with a trip there

No. The club would lose money which would defeat the object of getting this far . There would be no trouble but they would have to have a large police presence ..and pay for it . Interesting point. One of the only good things Ken Bates did at Leeds was to win a court case against West Yorkshire Police for costs for policing outside the ground. I imagine that this may have set a legal precedent and that Constabularies can only charge for presence on the Club's property, which should be minimal because of routine stewarding and segregation practice. Even at Leeds, there are rarely more than a couple of PCs inside each of the four stands. Outside the ground they obviously have dozens, but during the game they can all walk a couple of hundred yards down Elland Road to the brand spanking new cop shop they have built in place of their old city centre station and get on with some paperwork.
