Another Token here. Congratulations on being a stones fan I just don't think the plastic armchair fans "get it" they are missing out. Its been ages since we played and recently whats happened at Dale is unbelievable, we have only gone and got quite good!. Massively punching above our weight and we have such a young side we can be either very good / bad or indifferent. You have nothing to lose and nothing to fear I think it will be a good game. May the best team progress.. I am hoping we can get you back to Spotland at very least. You look like you have a good un up top who knows how to put the round thing through the white sticks? gold dust those kind of lads. I have an appreciation for lower league supporters.. Hopeful we bring 500 you fill the place and we have a cracking cup tie. Gutted I won't be there to see the Rochdale fans role into town. Hopefully you bring your full allocation and the place is rocking! Fingers crossed we take you to a replay and we get a day trip to Rochdale out of it! It's funny how people react to us lower league fans. I remember grabbing some beers at Victoria Station after Whitehawk away last season, and two Everton fans coming over to us and fawning: "You lads... you're what football is all about! Unbelievable you lads. Following your team. Amazing. Where you been? Brighton?! Wow! What commitment! You lads are the essence of football! Following your team like that!!"

It amazes me how long it takes the TV companies to decide on their matches. Players, clubs, fans etc need to book time off, travel, hotels etc, as soon as they can. Surely they could have worked it out before now? They announce in later rounds without waiting for replays, so that's no excuse.Every game in the round is uncertain of dates and times.

Yet still no word of whether we'll be on that tragic Sunday "special" programme.

Pity they can't spell Merstham. Hopefully they will manage it on the day!

Having read earlier comments on this topic about 'northern monkeys' I have been prompted to actually join the forum having been an avid reader for sometime.
I qualify as a 'northern monkey' having been born in Cheshire where I lived for 32 years before moving with my job and becoming a 'soft southerner' 39 years ago.
It was at this time I became a Stones supporter at the old London Road ground and remember vividly Trips with a friend and our 2 daughters to Southwick for 2 mid week cup replays and trips to Watford, the coldest I have ever been at a football ground ! , and to Sheffield United as well as many more local venues for league games until the team's demise in the early 90's.
Upon the opening of the new Gallagher Stadium I became one of those 'miserable' main stand season ticket holders and still maintain my season ticket even though we moved back 'home' to Cheshire last November so I can come down to see the Stones occasionally thanks to a travelling time just over 3 hours courtesy of Virgin trains and South East rail.
Since moving 'back north' I have been to see the Stones at Tranmere, where on our second half performance I thought we deserved a draw, and Torquay, where we took advantage of their defensive errors to record a good win. I have to say the away support at both these games was a credit to our club.
I hope to go to the away games at Southport and Wrexham and in the meantime will continue to listen to Stones live on a Saturday afternoon to keep upto date with the Stones progress this season. I will be there on Saturday week to take my seat in the main stand to see my now 'local' team Macclesfield take on the Stones.
Despite, like many other Stones supporters who were born 'north of Watford', my support for the Stones is just as strong as it was when we lived in Kent.

I wonder if you used to sit next to my Dad, he's mentioned that two seats next to him in the main stand never have anyone sat in them - and no, there are no "hygiene" issues!

Probably not as my seat is next to my daughter and son in law who attend all home games and if I am not using my seat my grandson who has a ground season ticket usually uses it.

I knew Watford was cold, but I didn't realise it was officially 'Northern' cold!

Listen. I have the N for North in my name so I'm in there. That and - despite my accent - being half Scottish as well.

Yes it was a seriously weird post by sunnystone - must be a newcomer doesn't seem to fit into this forum at all comfortably lacking in all the sarcasm and dross with which we have become too familiar Good to change things up every now and then he he Good Lord you'll be making this board sensible next. We do not need that! Now be orf with you!
