Well, if you look at the Companies House records for Ashford United Football Club Ltd ( reg no 07110888 ) a receiver was indeed appointed on 28 Oct 2015.
So unless there is a filing error at Companies House ( most unlikely ), Ashford are indeed in trouble.
[ On edit, the entity appointing the receiver is based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, which does appear a bit odd ].

Possible that they are the victim of some kind of scam, but all these rumours and denials do have a horrible feeling of déja vu.

There's a lot to comment on based on what is in the public domain, but maybe best not to until the crisis meeting mentioned in the Ashford Herald takes place......................

Insolvent, may not. Illiterate, most definately 11 days on from the notice of receivership being posted on The Companies House web site, it's still there. So something strange here - if I were AUFC I'd be getting that removed from their public records........................

And apparently being sued for defamation by the company they accused of a scam. Seems they haven't learnt the lessons of the past.

Would be easier for Ashford fans to get to the Gallagher than Homelands, so they might get a bigger attendance

Would be easier for Ashford fans to get to the Gallagher than Homelands, so they might get a bigger attendance plus maidstone east station is only a 4 minute walk from the gallagher, a lot less then the 4 mile walk Ashford international is to homelands!
