Another gormless journalist dissing 3G - again.
"Welling manager Loui Fazakerley injured on first day of new season against Guiseley
Welling boss Loui Fazakerley will find out this week how long he faces on the sidelines. Fazakerley was injured in stoppage time during Welling's opening day 1-0 win over Guiseley at Park View Road on Saturday. He was helped from the field of play and left the ground on crutches after damaging his achilles. "It doesn't look good," said Wings coach Paul Barnes. "He'll definitely miss the trip to Forest Green on Tuesday." Fazakerley's experience on the pitch will be a big miss for a new-look youthful Wings side after he impressed in their opener. "He was outstanding," added Barnes. "He led by example without bigging him up too much. "He put his body on the line and I don't think he lost a header all day - just the sheer heart and desire to do well was evident for all to see." It means the Wings boss will be hoping that Harry Osborne recovers in time from an injury picked up in training on Friday to make the trip to Forest Green on Tuesday. Striker Keiron St.Aimie (knee) has missed most of pre-season while Barney Williams has not featured since being injured on Maidstone's 3G pitch at the Gallagher Stadium."
Notice the unnecessary reference to the pitch in the last sentence. The irony in this article makes me smile.
