BORE DA! (Welsh for 'good morning!')
I see CPD has already posted up a lot of useful information for you guys to use. I just wanted to wish you travelling Stones a safe trip up North to visit Wales' oldest professional football club. I will just give you some information that you might not know yet and ask me as many questions as you like.
I hope you find us friendly enough on the day around the ground and the area, we are a real friendly bunch so don't be afraid to ask us for any information that you may need if you bump into us!
You may of heard of the famous 'BOOTLEGGER', he creates his own Match of the Day video and later uploads it onto YouTube. He is famous for these and his interaction with both sets of supporters on his video camera, a real nice fella! If you would like to have an interview with the 'captain' himself then he is normally found in or around Maesgwyn Hall Pub on the Mold Road before the match wearing a brown leather jacket and his captains hat! Be prepared to be called 'chief' once or twice, and to be asked for your score prediction.
You will be housed in the top left of the UCML/Yale Stand where a cracking atmosphere can be made because of the roof, be prepared for some banter with the Wrexham fans who will be standing behind the goal and who are also to the left side of you. Listen out for the '$heep $h@gg1ng b@$t@rd$ we know what we are' chant especially, one of my favourites!
Car parking is available from the University next door where there is loads of room for a small fee, but all goes towards our club! Try to avoid Crispin Lane in your car as it can get pretty congested to say the least.
Programmes are normally £3 for a normal edition, I don't know if they will be reduced as it is the Cup, we will wait and see!
Sky Sports will be shown before the game inside the Centenary Club (underneath the stand you shall be in), Maesgwyn Hall (where you may find Bootlegger!), and also the Turf (the small pub in the corner of the ground). All very friendly!
There will be a couple of hot food vans selling hot dogs, cheese burgers etc outside the ground (one in the Turf pub car park and one in the Maesgwyn Hall car park).
Bring as many banners and flags as possible and be in loud voice as I am sure you will be in to create a brilliant atmosphere! Only expect around 2,000-2,500 Wrexham fans as it is being televised on a main channel, so will probably be around 3,500 at the game.
I believe that the Plas Coch pub is the best pub to go in before the game if you are an away fan, is rather big and can create a good atmosphere in there and it also has a large beer garden to enjoy to cold in! Away fans are known to be out here before a game with there banners up singing p!$$ed up haha!
Sorry it is all in a bit of a random order, just trying to help as much as possible! Enjoy your special day with us!
