Whiled away a few minutes trying to recollect (in rough but probably wrong chronological order) those "were you there?" pivotal games (I know we existed before 1978, but...)
Swindon Charlton Gillingham Watford Exeter Sheffield United Kidderminster Reading Runcorn Peterborough Darlington Hereford Scott Sports Reserves Aylesford Lydd Snodland Beckenham Deal Mildenhall Ramsgate Newport IOW Tonbridge Boreham Wood North Leigh Redbridge Sevenoaks Broxbourne Hastings Halesowen Dover Walton Casuals Folkestone Chelmsford AFC Wimbledon Margate Woking Brighton Salisbury Halifax Whitehawk Dulwich Welling Stevenage A Stevenage H Wrexham
NOT looking for people to boast about how many they were at, but have I missed any ? Note how this season already has 3 lines with a 4th to come and the league season's still young!

Winchester City where the local radio presenter asked us to sing a song - live inevitably it was a rude song about the gills

Reading! It's bothered me for years that I remember going to Reading, but couldn't remember why (must have been a cup, obviously). I was coming round to the idea that it was another JDL memory failure. Also, I was there at the West Ham League Cup game on Sept 11 2001 (no one's mind was on the game - but, inevitably, the Hammers lost...), so I thought I'd got it mixed up with that. But presumably the Stones were there before the new stadium was built?
Also went to Aldershot once (4th division or cup?) - they went bust shortly afterwards. Nice ground though.
Newport (Wales, not IoW) also went bust shortly after we played them, and Barnet very nearly went shortly after playing us. It was starting to look like we were a Jonah club - play us and go broke!
Little did we know then what was in store for us...

I remember going there on a minibus (we couldn't raise enough away support for a coach!). They were in the Isthmian Premier then, whilst we were lording it in the Conference. Nasty feeling they beat us though...
