The Tom West Football Fund is looking to announce a advertising deal with a club. We have a budget of £500 & we are looking along the lines of Programme & Ground Advertising. Where can we get the most for our money? Thanks!

All Maidstone's rates are available on the club website. As far as other clubs are concerned, you'll probably have to ask the individual clubs themselves.

Probably best looking at the more ambitious members of the Kent County League, and Southern Counties East League.

And learn to write a good, short, punchy press release, maybe with pictures for the various local rags and websites.
It's about generating maximum publicity for minimal outlay. Maybe some here have such experience they could share.

You won't get anything short and punchy from many of the posters on here, myself included. We can waffle on for ages without actually saying anything

That's a very small budget, so I would also recommend you try one of the better-supported Kent League clubs, like Tunbridge Wells.

I believe that the only people that can realistically discuss MUFC commercial activities and arrangements would be the club management rather than forum respondees
The Commercial Manager is called Nadine Miller and I would advise you contact her in the first instance.

Probably make sense to have a Facebook page or group, to spread the word free of charge to friends of friends etc.

Mekon in principal you are right, but I run my own business and have myself considered programme and board advertising, so I know what it costs. The fact is he is going to get very little for his £500 with MUFC and whilst at one level you could argue we shouldn't be asking someone to turn money away from our club, I'd rather be helpful and advise him to make his money go further. For £500 he could probably get a decent run of ads in a KPL programme, rather than not many with us. That sort of advertising generally doesn't work unless you can give it an extended run.

Well at Dulwich Hamlet. I can get a page in the programme, an advertising board & be match sponsor for 2 games. Same at many clubs. At North Shields FC I can be the sponsor of the main stand!

Websites can be satisfying to do and even free, but are also time consuming with the usual problem being trying to generate traffic. Even if people visit once, what is going to keep them coming back? I've noticed a few pubs drop their websites in favour of Facebook, where they can send messages advertising events and products direct to those who have chosen to like them.
