Don't bother use either the invicta car park thinks it Stacey street or hopefully the charity car park (it's the job centre one) definitely in Stacey street about £3.00 compared to £5+ in the station

I'm pretty sure the charity cat parks, both invicta house and tower gate, only open on Saturdays, as they are both business car parks during the week.

I think you're right Daveu. There are parking bays along three sides of the prison (Lower Boxley Road etc) it's free for two hours up to 18:30 then free unresticted thereafter. And as Mackster says you can park on a single yellow after 6:30 if you arrive later. Once parked find the Society Rooms (Weatherspoons) in Week Street opp. Maidstone East station

Of an evening I now park in Fremlins Walk, then a ten minute walk. £2.00, but only if you arrive after 7.00 pm.

Just checked on my way home and the station car park is £4.50 after 2pm (you can pay by phone if you want to).
About the time you're arriving, the car parks will be emptying and the side streets filling up, but if you can find a residents parking space in one of the side streets, you can park for 2 hours without a permit or after 6:30 (so that effectively means from 4:30). There's lots of small/medium pay and display car parks scattered around the side streets (e.g. Wheeler St, Jeffrey St, Brewer St). Parking in these is usually £2 for 3 hours, £3 for 4 (I think).
Coming from the motorway, down the A229, at the second roundabout (next to the new Library and hideous blocks of flats (white with black lines - you can't miss them), take the first exit and go right at the next roundabout for the station car park (entrance is on the right, well before the station - just past the old Post Office sorting building). Or go straight on for side-street/pay and display parking - follow the road along by the prison and turn right at the mini roundabout at the top, follow that road through the traffic lights and turn right at the next set of lights next to Aldi (into Wheeler St). There's a small pay and display on your left just past the RSPCA shop, or at the cross roads immediately afterwards (Eagle Inn), turn left for the Jeffrey St car park or right for the Brewer St one. From any of these you're less than 10 minutes from the ground. (Google Earth/map is your friend - it's easier than my directions!)
Enjoy your visit (but not too much!).

Most of those are either £1 or £2 after 6pm I think and you can stay all night.
gingerinthepink, are you the one we were singing about at one point on Sunday?
