As a nomad club during the Sittingbourne and Ashford years we all played the 'how many when we get home' game I was probably the most optimistic with around 1000! I got it hopelessly wrong so all things considered we're not doing too bad!

The issue is whether the money earned was unexpected or not. In Jay Saunders' mind, I would suggest not. Mind you, Oxford, it's impressive that you have your own dictionary!

Thank you Captain Mosh. I was not aware of that. If maidstone were to win promotion this season would there be a time limit set for a 3,000 capacity or would it need to be in place prior to promotion?
Jayser - apologies old chap. While my post wasn't entirely aimed at you it was to a certain extent and when I go back and re-read it it seems relatively sensible. I'm guessing that what you are talking about is a modest capacity increased (as Captain Mosh pointed out would be required) followed by an extensive and one-off extension when required or can be afforded.

Without looking it up I think you have a season to bring things up to standard before being relegated if you haven't.

So I guess it would better to do it at the end of this season (if promotion is achieved) rather than risk a relegation because deadlines get missed. Do we know a reliable builder?

I agree with some that a capacity to 3000, including work on improving the sight lines along the perimeter is all the club should aim for in the short term. Long term not sure, that would very much depend on the playing surface and the clubs contingency plan if all goes pear shaped outside of our control.

Didn't they say at the supporters meeting that the stand extension wouldn't increase the capacity but extra turnstiles would?

NWS you are spot on, that is exactly what I was getting at. I do think we could get up to 3,000 without committing at this stage to a big stand at the town end, then later, a substantial construction there could get us up to maybe 5,000 at a much later stage and we'd want that (minimum) as a league club.

I think the football league minimum is 6000.

That's exactly what the club are talking of. 5000 is enough for Football League as long as you got 1000 seats

To clear this up. You can get in with 4000 capacity and 500 seats (undercover). However, you must have the ability to reach 5,000 cpapacity with 1,000 seats under cover. The actual criteria is as preciousstone says although the seats must be under cover.
