Did or does anyone get any stick at school or work for being a non-league fan (or a Maidstone one)?

That's fair enough, sadly I wasn't alive back then, I'm only a youngster, 16, I go to school and everyday and face stick for supporting a lower league club.

Let it go over your head young man. You have the ability to watch your team every week without bankrupting your parents. Can your fellow students say that about Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United?? You have got it right my son just ask them when was the last time they went to Old Trafford?

At least you get to see them play, can be part of your local club, or even play for one of the junior sides. Question. How many of Man Utd supporters have ever seen thier team play live. Answer not many. Stick with your local team it means so much more.

How many kids at school go and watch the Premier League club they support? Not too many I would bet. Better to support a club you actually care about than get excited about what is essentially just another TV programme if you're not going along to games in my opinion.

Back in the day, we would get 20 odd pupils going to watch a match. Bog rolls would go missing from school (Vinters) for evening games and along with other schools we would make the sort of noise the Town End make now. Get your mates to go to an evening match instead of hanging around street corners!

Most of them are probably man u fans who've never seen a live game in their lives. Let the dish out the stick, you're the one who's getting the benefit of watching a great team every week while they sit and fester in front of sky sports.

I ( and a bunch of other reprobates) used to make holes in the fence at London road on a Friday after school ( maplesden ) so that we could sneak in on a Saturday and didn't care for prem sides COYS

Yea, your all right I love going to the Gallagher every week, love travelling away. It means so much more to support a local team, I mean 1st round VS Stevenage, what a great day out and a unique game to see but everyone else at school takes a game like that for granted. COYS

I used to get a load of stick for it in the eighties when we were non league not surprising as it was a school in Gillingslum! Still get the odd comment but i know I support The Stones and its just something special.

I guess some will never learn!!!
