Even if it's Gillingham it's a big step up and who could deny him the chance. If he does move on, Alex Akrofi looks like he could do the same job. Also, since he's on a contract you would hope we'd get a decent fee for him. Scally will try and get him for nothing or the promise of something and deliver nothing. Scally wont pay what he's worth.

Scally is a scalliwag !! . Why should we sell our best player to a team that doesn't respect us and are struggling in their league, it wouldn't be good for Flisher as they would put too much pressure on his young shoulder to get them out of a hole they won't get out this year !! ... Relegation candidate !!

He looked good against Cray and he impressed against us in the cup, but, for all his skill and trickery, their defence had him firmly under control every time he ran forward. He's only 19, so he's still got a lot to learn, and, on recent performance, he should turn into a cracking player in a year or two. But he's far from being a direct replacement for Flisher (or anyone else) at the moment.

Apart from that odd period in the second half when we went to sleep and that easy goal from the free-kick (that definitely wasn't!), that was a cracking game.
It comes to something when you're not worried about a visit from the 5th placed side, or even that bothered about going one down in the first few minutes. The Stones are just so good at the moment that we expect them to win, almost whoever they play - even when they're not playing well. So good, that we even don't worry about the subs coming on - they won't break up the shape of the side or the pattern of play, in fact, we expect them to add something extra to the game.
I don't remember us ever being this good and this consistently overwhelming before - even the season we won the Conference and went up. Amazing stuff and amazing times.
But a word to the wise for anyone whose just started supporting us this season - it won't always be like this!

Relegation candidate !! I have a confession in that I went to piss fields last week with my neighbour (don't worry it was a freebie). Everyone sitting near me knew I was a Maidstone supporter and all were genuinely interested in how we are doing. That said the football I saw was some of worst I have ever seen in my entire 41 years on this planet. I have a honest held belief that we would more than match them at the moment and Flish would be a better standard than them.

The penalty save seemed to spur us into action because we came out after HT and just sat there letting them come at us. After the penalty save we never looked back although they had moments of sheer incompetence at the back that let them down. The giveaway of possession to Flisher for the third goal being one.

Course he wouldn't and why should he. And why would anyone want to deny him the chance to play at a higher level?

They also had a keeper called Gay!
Complete failure of the Town End to take any advantage of this. Very puzzling - you'd have thought it would have been a gift!
Incidentally, once again we were very quiet today. I don't mean just the chanting/singing (which seems to get less each game), but the general level of crowd noise as well. If you could only hear the crowd, you'd have no idea of what was actually happening on the pitch!
In his programme notes, Bill appeals for more noise and remarks how much louder we are away. I've often wondered why this is - after all it's pretty much the same people going away as stand in the ends at home games.

Course he wouldn't and why should he. And why would anyone want to deny him the chance to play at a higher level? Beware the Ovard Syndrome though. He waited years for Gillingham to notice him, but when they eventually did he had a pretty torrid time there, not getting much first team action and never settling. But, worst of all, when they eventually kicked him out and he came back to us he was never the same player again - the spark seemed to have gone out of his game. Maybe it's best to be a stand-out player at a lower level than an also-ran at a higher level? Anyway, the way things are going, we'll be playing at the same level in a few years time. After all, it's happened before!

Unless its a healthy six figures to pay a huge chunk towards the ground development Gills can keep their mitts off!

No one really shouted for it and none have so far questioned it so its probably just me but the shot that cannoned of the cross bar looked like it could have been over the line however i suspect this is just wishful thinking on my part.
