I have just read that Tonbridge will be playing Margate on the 27th Dec rather than the traditional Boxing Day fixture. The Ryman League has offered this to all teams to change if they both agree. I think personally with our fixture being so far away its a good idea.

Makes way more sense in Non-League. I think a lot more people would be up for games if they were on the 27th when the Turkeys gone stale and all the beers been drank after Boxing day...

It probably makes sense but not playing on Boxing Day! Have you both gone mad?

If it had been a local game I'd definitely go for Boxing Day, however it isn't, its Peacehaven which is 3 hours travelling so Saturday please!

Surely a fixture change would have to be instigated by the home club.
I quite like Boxing Day games but if they are too close to the Saturday I would rather have the Saturday.

I have e-mailed the club concerning a change of date but not received a reply yet.
I understand that the Ryman league are allowing clubs to change to Saturday if both clubs are in agreement, but as I said in the e-mail to Peacehaven it maybe that it is Maidstone who don't want to change.

You want to stick with family committments rather than use the Boxing Day get out clause....definitely me that's on the side of sanity

Whatever happened to the idea that Boxing Day games should be local derbies to avoid fans having to travel too far??
