What a complete knob that Simon Baker is, so he think players could sue if injured on 3G, why are they not suing when played on grass with ruts and divots? Because injuries happen no matter what surface you play on, and most are caused by opposition players. Let's start by banning them shall we? Another dinosaur at the top of the game.

Remember what Simon Baker's background is. An ex-QPR player of the eighties - we need to inform these individuals that the new 3G pitches are a very different from the carpets they played on.

Non-league is a different world to anything in the football league. I think if Simon Baker looks at the scheduling and the amount of games cancelled at our level in December / January, 3G is a no brainer.
The injury comments are absolutely ridiculous. A poor argument with no real evidence, chiming on when there's no proof to back up his boring, dated, old time views...

The fact so many teams train on 3G shows how false the injury argument is, a lot of players are spending more time on 3G than not and why would teams do that if it was injuring their players?

Totally agree. You hear week in week out of players doing damage in training on grass pitches so I really don't see the issue. Even the England squad train on a 3G pitch at St Georges...

The women haven't got a leg to stand on with the law suit (no pun).
It states in the article that they are more prone to knee injuries due to having wider hips.

And likewise, men are more likely to have hamstring issues. What it comes down to is people will get injured playing a physical, intense, contact sport like football no matter what surface they are playing on...
Great pun though...

It's seems to me that every cock dick and harry are happy to train on an artificial pitch but not play on one. Have the cock breathed dick wads tallied up the minutes that their players train compared to play. I'd like to punch the fick ducks full in the face. But that wouldn't be nice.

We would need a study into the long term effects of such actions, IS, or you could find yourself in litigation hot water should there be an injury.
TBF to Mr Barker he has pointed out that there is no study into the long term effects of playing on 3G. As this does not include training (because he would not be so idiotic as to think that players have not been training on such surfaces for years now would he) then perhaps he could please indicate how such a study could ever take place if the thing is outlawed.
I am also intrigued as to how it is fair that we suffer an unfair disadvantage of having to play on grass for half our league games while every other team has the unfair disadvantage of 3g for just one game. Surely we should be awarded a head start of ten points to compensate for this!
