Good stuff, but strangely not quite the usual quality. The stress of the game obviously got to our intrepid reporters as well.
And once again, poor old Onan gets maligned.
He was required by law to impregnate his dead brother's wife, so as to continue his brother's line. "But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his. So whenever he went in to his brother’s wife he would waste the semen on the ground, so as not to give offspring to his brother." (New English Bible - Genesis 38:9).
In other words, he did the deed but didn't finish the job (the "withdrawal method").
Nothing to do with wanking.
I think, at the very least, an apology is in order.

Genesis is open to several interpretations, as works of fiction often are. Although you could argue that what that linesman did to us was from Leviticus.
