My first game of the season!!! Can't wait.
My wife just said to me "are you still going to football?". Not only a totally insane question - "well, I've been waiting since May to see the Stones again, and it's driven me mad not being able to see any of the games so far this season, but... well, I guess, no, I don't need to go, if there's something more important happening...".
As if! Trouble is, my wife has no interest in football at all, so if she asks about a game, there is ALWAYS an ulterior motive. Is she softening me up for some awful guilt trip about going to football instead of some dire, boring family thing???
She's got less than 24 hours, so that would stop most women. But not my wife...

2-1 to us, 1,800
We score early and again just before half-time (Flisher and Mills - it's about time!). They come out second-half a different team and we are pinned into our own half, defending attack after attack. Their pressure eventually pays off with a 75th minute goal, but we hold out until the 90th minute. Then they get an injury-time penalty - and Worgan saves!
I have to be carried home by my daughter, having passed out during the penalty.
My wife isn't impressed.

Stay strong. Wives who don't like football need to learn the priorities of life. Don't they realise it gets the old man out from under their feet for a couple of hours so they can get the cleaning done.

Anyone ever tried listening to an internet commentary whilst watching a live game?
Listening to the radio commentary whilst watching the TV is weird enough, but, given the delay you always seem to get on the internet, listening to Stones Live whilst actually watching the game could be quite bizarre!
