Great signing and possibly very shrewd. Is this a tailor-made replacement for Jay if things don't go as planned?

Yes, I'm sure that was right at the top of Jay's reasons for appointing him

Yes, I'm sure that was right at the top of Jay's reasons for appointing him How much of it is down to the board? ,who would set a wage?,and how much is down to Jay?. Yesterday we were told by Jay ,that Ward got moved on to free up funds for the playing budget. Now Nicky has been appointed surely he would want a bigger fee as he has been manager in his own right (unsuccessfully) at other clubs. But brings a wealth of experience.. I wonder, just wonder if wardy would of gone ,and nicky would of come along and the fourth striker signed he adds lots of pace ,in the same week as 3g pitch acceptance,or is it all coincidence!? Nah bugger off Margit were gonna win the league.
Good signings

I was only talking on here the other day about the Grimsby midfield I watched growing up and a couple of days later one of them arrives as the new assistant manager! Great career as a player and will be interesting to see if there are any changes given his involvement. Welcome to the club trigger!

I very much hope he is a proactive coach during tight games not another silent passive watcher. Any idea why he parted company with them oyster boys ?
