A very good talk at the ground tonight, he also said that he was very open to a friendly between Maidstone and Gillingham and he had no problem at all with the 3G pitch so maybe next season.

One of my favourite MUFC players, a real joy to watch. Very sad when he left to join Exeter and then returned with them in a Cup game and a loudmouth in front of me slagged him off throughout the game.
I thought he was player-manager for us, but I can't find any reference to this - did I imagine this? I could be getting confused with Exeter, as I think he left to manage them?

A really excellent evening. Peter spoke for around 45 minutes and then fielded questions for another 45.
Topics covered included Glenn Hoddle / Eileen Drury / Ray Parlour , Stan Collymore , Aggressive Jock tackling , Funding of the Dartford Crossing , the Sunni / Shia tensions in the Middle East and why left footed players ought to play on the right etc.
Overall, the message from Peter was that in football ( indeed, in any career ) don't be put off by setbacks, keep working & keep trying to reach your target.
Top bloke and well done to MUFC / The Rise of Maidstone United for putting this on.

Peter Taylor was player manager at Dartford for a couple of seasons in the early 90's . During his time at the Stones he was for a game or two stand in manager, This was during a board room coup against Jim Thompson when i think it was Bill Williams manager at the time stood down in support of J.T

I'd rather we waited for a competitive game with Gillingham even if it means waiting another 20 years.

I'd rather we waited for a competitive game with Gillingham even if it means waiting another 20 years. I was under the impression we had a competitive game recently with a very familiar 2-1 scoreline?
