Recently produced and highly recommended comes 'A History of Bearsted Football Club 1895 - 2013', with all proceeds going towards lights at Honey Lane. Details are as per the 'Bears web site: www.bearstedfc.co.uk/news/History%20of%20Bearsted%20FC%20BookPop along to the pub mentioned on the website, sink a couple of beers, have a chat to the Barman, who might well be a VP of the Bearsted club, and contribute to a well deserving cause. A top class read and Bearsted should be congratulated for this endeavour.

BUMP !!
A final effort to promote this worthy cause. As mentioned elsewhere in this section, Graeme Andrews has returned to Bearsted for 2014 / 15 to help the club's push on towards the Southern Counties East. To reach that League ( and indeed to stay in the Kent Invicta Football League ) the Bears will need floodlights, at an apparent cost of £ 65 - £ 70 K. Your purchase of this book will help towards that target.
The book covers in some detail the seminal 2000 / 2001 season which saw Maidstone finish second in the Kent County League ( behind Bearsted ) and finally get promoted to the Kent League. Page 145 of the book presents a picture from London Road of the 1 - 1 draw between Maidstone & Bearsted on a cold looking 24th March 2001 as that season rumbled on to a late finish. Stones supporters from that period, are you in that picture ?
Lots of other crossovers between Maidstone & Bearsted - not surprising given the geography, familiar names from recent years featured including Danny Lye & Richard Monks.
Buy the book people, you know it makes sense.

SURELY the highly knowledgable football loving British Sports Minister (and Maidstone MP) Helen Grant could give them a deserved and much needed grant? (Owww the irony lol)
