FA Cup, Trophy and Vase - FA Competitions only sadly! At least it shows a lead and will allow those clubs now ignorant of modern surfaces to be educated about the quality, well at least those that get to play on it

There is no restriction in the FA Trophy or FA Vase as it is according to this? www.thefa.com/~/media/files/pdf/thefa/facilities/2012/3g-guidance-lo.ashxMaybe it's the FA's way of gently saying to the conference: "let's not be silly here, we don't want a little club in Kent making a big noise, thus alerting our big bosses in Europe to the fact we don't allow something that the even big bosses approve and a apply a star rating to?"

You see FINALLY at the FA a LIGHT BULB has gone off. That FIFA allows 3G but we don't. Oh just another reason why FIFA should never/not allow an unenlightened country to host its main competition. FA - WHEN IN A HOLE STOP DIGGING.

... so the only difference would be the Proper rounds of the FA Cup? Still a massive step. however, recent trends would suggest that we'll draw at home in the play-off final before Collin misses the crucial penalty in the shoot-out (after Zac has scored the first and Rooney the second...), so we've got another year of lobbying to go.

Good find ontheup and I couldn't agree more with your comment I'm quietly confident the conference will follow suit or lose in court haha COYS

Hard to not get excited about this but would rather wait until some formal announcement from the FA actually confirms it.
Blimey only wrote to them last week suggesting the same! Unfortunately the reply was stating no current change in the FA's position.
Fingers very crossed!

The 2012 FA guidance on 3G pitches here: www.thefa.com/~/media/files/pdf/thefa/facilities/2012/3g-guidance-lo.ashxsays, in big print: The FA is considering changing the Standard Code of Rules so that leagues would not be allowed to refuse the use of 3G Football Turf pitches. Presumably we have thought of asking them to hurry up and get on with this, then it would seem that we don't need any league voting? If they are doing it for cups, the leagues must surely be changed too?
