Yet another report that opens with
"believes more teams should consider following Maidstone United's example of installing a 3G pitch, despite the ruling from the Conference last week.
The key word being "following".....insinuating Maidstone United are a leader...."plastic pioneers"
Should there actually be any sort of debate? When Hamilton Accies, are knocking on the door of the Scottish Prem (which they are) how much debate will there be?

I just love being a Stone - we were THE club back in the 80s/90s, and now here we are again!
I'm going to get my old Watford v Stones rosette and stick it on my PJs!

You mean Colchester United of League 1? The league that is 4 leagues above the league we're not allowed in?

As an ex-Essex lad, I'm always mildly surprised that Colchester even HAS a FL club!

Quote from Pete Ackerely (The FA's Senior National Game Development Manager): "There has to be a move to sustainable artificial pitches. The average grass pitch can hold two to three games a week - artificial pitches can host up to 60 teams training and matches." I assume that the club have contacted Sport England and enlisted their support? www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26065945

No Problem, I have just posted the article on our forum to point out how silly it makes us look.

Just a point of note, and this is something that seems to have escaped the anti 3G brigade, and the mud slingers aiming in our direction.
We are not trying to change the rules, mid-season.....the timing has nothing to do with us other than this is perhaps the earliest the Conference have been prepared to engage in the subject.
Oliver Ash and Co, have been trying to speak to the conference for the past 18 months, they have always had the door shut in their face.......the Conference are quite clearly sat behind the protection of their vote allowing a MUFC to take the "hits" over a subject they have (purposely) stalled on.
We "gambled", rules are rules etc.....To bring the Football Club back home we needed to build a ground, for that you need cash, if you don't have cash, you borrow it....if you borrow, you need to be able to demonstrate you can service that debt.......the estimated crowds were 800-900, this was not enough to service the debt....3G or No Club, was 3G a gamble?
Can we just rip the pitch up and put grass down? - Of course not, the community is so embedded within the club, and I think the local MP (the sports minister) would have something to say about it.
There's a lot of "clever" people out there making comments and assumptions on a subject they clearly no very little about.
