Obviously we were the better team and were unlucky. No doubt the ref screwed us over too. The long injury list didn't help either. Same ol bull shit lately. We've chucked away top spot twice now this season. We can't say were happy where we are in the table having been at the summit twice n thrown it away twice Sorry my sarcasm filter was switched on last night any ideas where Jays interview on the game can be found

He needs to play centre half.

I missed the first half as went straight from work and spent a couple of hours stuck on A2. From what I saw in the second half, we struggled with fluency and when we started to work their defence too often the final ball was poor. Then we started to get the hang of the final ball and missed a few sitters. at 2-1 I thought we might get back in it but they made the game bitty and that got us frustrated. Injuries aren't an excuse; they are a reality and the fact that we had a stronger team on paper hid the fact that Phillips was possibly rushed back early and we still miss Rory. Charley is a great prospect but physical teams dominate him in this league when our team is not firing and offering options. The only disappointment for me at the moment is Jack Parkinson who appears to have a heavy touch, poor vision, a lack of mobility, gives silly fouls away and missed a sitter tonight. I know he has coaching credentials and has played at a high level so I'm hoping he's not match fit and things will improve as he settles in. When all are fit and on form we have good options in defence, attack and on the wings. We only really have Brown and Philips who have proved they have the vision to play centre mid so maybe that's where we will strengthen next. I would disagrre with the comment about Parkinson last night. Saturday yes i didn't think he was in the game at all but last night i thought he was one of a very small minority that were running around wanting the ball all the time and got us trying to play and really i felt was our best midfield player last night and you can tell the qualities he has. To say his a disappointment i feel is harsh. I know we lost 4 - 1 and he had a great chance to score but i was was also standing behind the goal and he definatly score over Jerome. I have also read the comments about Zak, I'm a big fan but for people to be saying 'Player of the season' love his work rate but as a centre forward how many shots did he have last night ? how many chances did he make ? as i said before I'm a massive fan of him but would like to see our forwards on the score sheet more often than not. Theres a long way to go and all good teams have bad nights i suppose hopefully we can put it right on saturday.

Midfielders either defend or create chances for their forwards. This didn't happen last night.

But everybody has a different view that is understood. For me Frannie is played as our most central forward and that is why he has most of the goals cos he sits in the areas where he will score goals. Zak is a little different. He covers a lot more ground, gets more involved in general play and really trys to force things to happen. Take Frannie out of the team and ask any decent forward to sit up top and wait for the chance to come and goals will come if the service is good enough. Frannie has the ability and quality no doubt but I would be interested to see the stats on how many chances Frannie gets and how many are converted. Zak, and again this is my opinion and I have not been to every game, has been the most consistent player this season and when you look around the team who has done better??

As I said before I'm a big fan but I just feel as a forward goals and chances are what they need to offer. Agree Frannie has played more central most of the time. If the both of them can get another little run going we will be around it at the end of the season.

Well, that was worth braving 'clockwork orange' country for? On a positive note, what a transformation Bayliss Ave has under gone, shame they don’t get the support to appreciate it I didn't comment after the draw against Met Police, because I didn't want to appear to 'knee jerk' over what I thought was a poor display, however my concerns following that game were magnified last night May I add that I'm very happy to be playing at home, we doing better than I thought at the start of the season, and we have had a lot of injuries of late! At the start of the season we played a 451 formation with Frannie up front by himself, this clearly didn't work, and despite what he might say he isn't suited as a lone striker. We changed to 442 and the results and performances improved. but the way Jay likes to play we need wide men, and with Orlando and Rory injured and Flish, out of form, unfit or not good enough anymore (I hope I'm wrong on that) we don't have the players at the moment to play that system well, Alex Brown and Charley are not wide men, both end up in the middle giving us no width. With the players available to get more width, why not try 352 we've got 3 centre backs with would allow Mills and Dan Parkinson / Cox to provide the width and still get Frannie and Zac up front, or play a diamond in midfield Jack Parkinson could hold with the full backs again providing some width Jay's the manager and he must decide, but surely trying something different is worth a try? The other thing that niggles me, is that after the game start there doesn't seem to be any direction from the bench, now I'm not advocating our management to do a 'Lloyd Hume' but they just seem to stand there! As has been pointed out there just doesn’t seem to be a plan B, apart from hoofing it on our 350K flat 'as good as wembley' surface One more point why did we sign an experienced full back to take our academy lad out of the fray for a bit, and not play him? Anyway let's hope for better on Saturday!

I was there and thought the ground was one of the best I have visited, although the burgers were rubbish. John Smiths at £2.50 was good. the pitch was huge and the surface very slippery and the Mead coped the best and deserved the win. They have been the most vocal team we have played this year and all their chat gets players motivated and in the right place with the bench joining in as well. This is something I think we are sorely missing as a team. Its much better when Watt bellows out his orders from midfield. I know a lot of our team are young and less experienced but we do need some one on the pitch to grab them by the bally and give instruction. Hopefully it can only get better. COYS

Well what can I say about this one.... What needs improving firstly SET-PIECES omg they were nothing short of dreadful!!!! I counted NINE corners and THREE freekicks we could have made use of yet out of 12 set pieces we barely scrambled the 1 in (well done sobers) anyway that's all the criticism I'm going to raise else I'm just repeating what others have said over n over again lol
How ever there was a couple of good point I feel need to be mentioned 1) jay recognised the fans disappointment and stated he felt sorry for us n players really should have done better 2) we helped thamesmead break a new home record this season (n it was a Tuesday night!!!) 3) Parky must have read my support thread from the other day because for the first time in ages a player shared in celebrating a goal with us so thank you Parky (my highlight of the night)
But like I kept shouting last night ( to minimal avail) COME ON STONES KEEP UR HEADS UP!!! Same goes for the fans let's try again Saturday COYS!!!!!!!

Haven't been impressed with him in midfield, looked OK in central defence a couple of weeks ago. Can't comment on the game as I wasn't there, but it's still only the fourth time we've lost this season and is the sort of result against a struggling side that can happen to anyone. As long as we bounce back from it with a win on Saturday I won't be too downhearted.
