On my way home and dissapointed of course, but I don't think we were as bad as the score suggests. Always going to be difficult chasing a game and thamesmead wanted it more tonight. Well done to them and they took their chances well. Let's hope we bounce back on Saturday. COYS.

Well the righting has been on the wall for a long time , the management have been given the tools for the job but are not cutting it !!!!
All the off field work will be in vain !!!
Jays interview was poor on radio Kent on Saturday and how many times doe's he build up the other team in the KM prior to a game not good enough !!

Obviously we were the better team and were unlucky. No doubt the ref screwed us over too. The long injury list didn't help either. Same ol bull shit lately. We've chucked away top spot twice now this season. We can't say were happy where we are in the table having been at the summit twice n thrown it away twice

I thought we had a strong team out their tonight, Brown and Phillips both started and we obviously weren't the better team, the better team won 4-1, credit where credit is due

Sarcasm. Was just running through the usual excuses we hear. Hopefully people will stop trying to make them

Defensively poor! Midfield not protecting the defence.Players slipping & losing their footing & the crosses overhit! One player had an absolute stinker!

We had plenty of the ball tonight but never did a lot with it! We had strong side out but did lack width especially on the right. Thamesmead took their chances, let's hope we improve for my commentary stint on Saturday!!

If I can just get a word in, having finally defrosted by the fire - for once, some flak was deserved tonight, if only for the way the defence seemed to have reverted to 3/4 years ago, i.e. gossamer thin whenever the opposition attacked. Consequently, Thamesmead scored just about every time they got a shot in, just like Harrow at the GS. If you weren't there tonight, you ought to know that our application and energy were very good throughout, but we lacked the incision that Rory and/or Orlando might have provided. The story would nevertheless have been different if we hadn't missed some gilt-edged chances: Flish slotting wide from close in, Frannie directing an easy header wide with the whole goal to aim at, Flish miscontrolling when offered a literal open goal... Conversely, Thamesmead hoofed the ball away more than any team I've seen this season - but they had the fairly handy knack of sticking the ball in the net. Is any radical surgery needed? No. Just a bit of stoicism among the Lance-Corporal Joneses, especially the ones who were canny enough to stay indoors.

I missed the first half as went straight from work and spent a couple of hours stuck on A2. From what I saw in the second half, we struggled with fluency and when we started to work their defence too often the final ball was poor. Then we started to get the hang of the final ball and missed a few sitters. at 2-1 I thought we might get back in it but they made the game bitty and that got us frustrated. Injuries aren't an excuse; they are a reality and the fact that we had a stronger team on paper hid the fact that Phillips was possibly rushed back early and we still miss Rory. Charley is a great prospect but physical teams dominate him in this league when our team is not firing and offering options. The only disappointment for me at the moment is Jack Parkinson who appears to have a heavy touch, poor vision, a lack of mobility, gives silly fouls away and missed a sitter tonight. I know he has coaching credentials and has played at a high level so I'm hoping he's not match fit and things will improve as he settles in. When all are fit and on form we have good options in defence, attack and on the wings. We only really have Brown and Philips who have proved they have the vision to play centre mid so maybe that's where we will strengthen next.

Worst performance for a long time. The only positive was Saunders hauling Phillips off at half time for one of the most childish halves of football I have ever seen. We were atrotious at the back and garbage in midfield. Feel sorry for Atwood who ran his socks off tonight. Also feel sorry for the large turnout from Maidstone who witnessed that shower of shit. Utterly depressing.

I am not sure it was our worst performance for a long time? Certainly the worst result. Difficult to single any one person out for criticism. The team lost tonight. Slow to start and defending deep Lee Worgan was shouting at em to get going and play a higher line. We are missing Steve Watt for sure and the sooner he is back in the side and wearing the arm band the better. I think Fab and Charley can be disappointed not to start. Brown was playing wide again to accommodate Phillips and Parkinson and for me he needs to be central where he can affect the game. Defence always troubled when the ball was played in behind again and Thamesmead deserved the result for their desire and application. They wanted it more no question in my mind which is the most disappointing thing for me. Zak Attwood has got to be on for player of the season. Not just for ability but his desire and all round contribution. Credit to Zak. Easy to say now that we are on the end of a 4-1 hammering but perhaps, and I know he has scored 20 odd goals, but give Frannie a rest, go 4-5-1, Zak up top on his own. There are goals in midfield no question and we might find we can dominate teams more with better balance and width across the midfield and our defence might receive a bit of protection. But that is just my opinion and I am no football manager. Still in a good position but we need to improve greatly if we are to stay in the play-off positions. Our support is fantastic by the way in terms of numbers that turn out but it seemed difficult tonight to make any sort of noise. A lot drifted off early however. But who can blame them. I was hoping for the impossible!!
