So after a run of indifferent form lately here we sit top of the league again (although Wealdstone have a game in hand). Good effort from the boys, particularly baring in mind the injuries we've had lately. Just need to avoid those home draws and we'll be set for a grandstand finish to the league, roll on Saturday.

Is this the highest position we have been in since reforming?

It's all a lie. The table is upside down and we're all going to hell in a hand cart

Thought we were very very good last night and could have easilly scored 5 or 6, the goals conceded seemed to come out of nowhere but we never looked as though we would get anything other than the 3 points.
Credit to Fabio for a great performance and a stunning volley for his 2nd goal. Credit as well to Dan Parkinson who (again) at the age of 17 had a very assured game.
Zac was causing problems all night (is he being looked at by league clubs?), Frannie ran his socks off and it was good to see Flish and Mills combining down the left.
Oh and Shhhh.......we got our first penalty in the league this season

Wingate were not too impressed with the penalty decision:
'Saraiva secured his hat-trick and the win with three minutes remaining, slotting home a penalty after a poor dive conned the referee'.

From a Wealdstone fan present last night:
The 2-4 scoreline flattered Wingate last night. Could have easily conceded 6+ and of the 2 they did score the first was deflected in by a defender when going wide and the second was from a corner that should have been a goal kick. First half an hour Maidstone were coasting really, went 2 up and took their foot off the gas. 2nd half they did enough without really breaking much sweat, got a soft penalty for the 3rd. In truth they were quicker, stronger and more composed than a very ordinary Wingate side.
Didn't really see much from Maidstone to put the willies up me, but you have to temper that with the opposition they were playing. It ended up a canter for them so never really had to get out of 2nd gear. Sure they had plenty in the locker if they needed to step up their game.
No doubt they will be in the hunt come the end of the season, as will Dulwich - whom I think will be the team to push us all the way as long as they keep the Turkish lad fit and the poor pitches don't cramp their style too much.
As for W&F... well they'll be glad that there are 4 properly pony sides in this division that are already starting to look doomed, cos in any other season in recent years they'd be well and truly stuck in the relegation zone now with the way they played last night.

From the Ryman site - "Tommy Whitnell from Cray Wanderers to Thamesmead Town".
I can't see Thamesmead escaping if they keep signing players who couldn't keep us up!

From a Wealdstone fan present last night: Didn't really see much from Maidstone to put the willies up me, but .... We'll leave that to the likes of Hampton and Canvey and such. We're just worry about what we need to do. By the way all I said to Rory last night when he slid over was "you've got your shorts dirty now" and he told me to F*ck Off ! Looks like I've been "Trollied" as well

I had a quick look, as I've always had the highest regard for Darren. When I say "quick", I mean the opposite. More proof that life is too short for Twitter!
