Bloody hell, our luck's in!! Despite people criticising the integrity of our manager (the same one who's just decided to dedicate himself full time to the club) and our top striker (the same one who's scored 20 goals by Christmas) we're in the play offs only 5 points off the leaders!! From all the talk I thought we were 22nd and just lost our 7th game at home this season!! I'd hate to see this message board when things are going badly!!
Everyone's welcome to their opinion, but got to say some opinions on here are nothing short of bizarre, my favorites below:
1)Jay doesn't have the balls to substitute a player - what the hell does having balls have to do with it. I'm pretty sure Jay makes what he thinks is a sensible decision. Not got the balls...how old are we, next it'll be that Wardy's double dared Jay to play someone!!
2) Weve been poor at home all season - Really, there was me thinking we hadn't lost a game in the league at home and we're in January...still a few draws does make us poor all season though!
3) Jay picks players based on personal relationships - Suppose he acted that way with Welford, Lye, Booth, Osborne, Olorunda etc etc. He's already shown his integrity and desire to move the club forwards on many occasions hence the ever increasing quality of players arriving
4) Frannie has been poor for weeks - Form is temporary, class is permanent. He's happily admitted today wasn't his day and I for one would much rather have him in our team. But hey we haven't needed his 20 goals so far this year. Suppose his likely 35 by the end of the year will be a poor return. Next it'll be bring back Kingy!!
I could go on but what's the point, why the hell would we want to support the team when we can instead knee jerk our way through to April!!!

Love that harry, you've hit nail right the head. Thanks Island, don't suppose we'll see much chat on this thread though as it's boring to actually post something in support of the team!

Harry be careful with you conspiracy theories! Sssshhhhh, don't tell anyone but since we've been back at The Gallagher we've played 37 league and play off fixtures and lost virtually all of them....oh sorry we've lost 3!!!!

I've just checked that same table and see that Hendon have scored 54 goals this season, and that is only one less than the team at the top so considering our defence was made up of an academy lad, our left winger and our usual left back playing at centre back did they actually do that bad?
Whilst I agree the performance wasn't great, I really don't understand the singling out of individual players. Twitter has been rife with player reaction to the performance and the fans comments and they seem to be in disbelief.
Is it me or are we just never going to get a penalty? Two blatant ones turned down today and how the one in the first half when Jack Harris was taken down by two defenders wasn't given is beyond me.
Maidstone United isn't just about today's performance and the comments posted by Hendon fans has been extremely positive about our whole set up and are in no doubt 3G is a no brainer.

And we may even keep the 3G pitch and teach Frannie how to handle it!

Well said Harry I apologise if I singled out one player but he did have a nightmare today, regarding Frannie he is a class player but he can't score goals if he isn't getting the service

And we may even keep the 3G pitch and teach Frannie how to handle it! Loved that quote that the passing game doesn't suit Frannie!! Always seen him as the Emile Heskey target man type rather than a goal scorer who thrives on good through balls and crosses and gets 20+ a season...oh hang on!!! You do wonder what people are watching sometimes.

Well said Harry I apologise if I singled out one player but he did have a nightmare today, regarding Frannie he is a class player but he can't score goals if he isn't getting the service Toon your posts are always more than fair and Frannie agrees with you about his performance today judging from his tweets! It's all this other nonsense that got my goat it's just gone a bit mad on here tonight and some people have lost all perspective when they're calling in to question Jay's integrity. The injuries are killing us at the minute and that's not helping Frannie as our shape is being dictated by who's available.

Agree with most thats been said here. As someone who will never forget sittingbourne or ashford I do have to remind myself of those halycon days when we play poorly.
Only two points to add really.
1. Frannie is a confidence player, and above everything else he is a finisher. He wont beat 5 players to score but anything inside that 18 yard box is where he does the damage. The only real iisue i have is that he need a target man next to him to feed off the scraps, a position that when we have a full squad I believe Zac plays very well.
2. As for Jays management skills, I have no problem with his decisions, do I agree with all of them ...no but then Im not the one who's in that position. Do we have a right to question these decisions, well yes as paying supporters we do but it would be nice if some of the comments were constructive unlike that tit I always seem to stand near in the Springfield end who obviously has won a game of football manager on his computer and is now a leading expert.
Rant over and i didnt even mention the bloody rain...

Just checked the table. If we were to win our game in hand, we would go 3rd. Well done to jay, the team, the coaches, backroom staff, the coach seat selling fella, bill, and the directors. What an achievement to be where we are 16 months after returning home.
